We're Famous!

Well sort of! We made our first TV debut last Friday. Recently, the CDC published a new study about the rise of twin births in recent decades and for some reason it's been really talked about in our town. So our local newspaper and TV station turned to our Mothers of Multiples group for some input. I tired to get the video to imbed but I'm on my iPad and I just don't know all the ins and outs just yet! So click here

Christmas 2011

Our kids were absolutely beyond blessed this Christmas. Dalyn and I literally only bought them 4 presents that were from us ('Santa') but they certainly didn't lack any presents under several Christmas trees this year. We travel to WNC (Western North Carolina) to be with family for the holidays and we stay with the hubs parents. It's great that Dalyn's parents get to experience this pure joy and excitement during the holidays with our kids. Here are a few pictures from Christmas. . . .

Unfortunately, Dalyn's mom got all the pictures of Christmas morning on her camera, so I don't actually have any of the Christmas day. Hopefully, I can get some and upload them soon. I hope you and yours had a truly blessed Christmas!

Hit the Slopes

Not long after Dalyn and I met he introduced me to snowboarding. I spent the whole season on the bunny slope it think but he was so patient and amazing. From that year on my parents always took us on a mini-vacay to somewhere cold and snowy. In the last few years we haven't been financially able to go but we both said once our kids got old enough we wanted to get them out on the slopes. Now granted I know they are a tad young to start, so for now we'll just stick to this . . . .

Back in October Dalyn had to attend a conference in Washington, DC. Originally, I hadn't planned on going because I was working but when I got fired I jumped on the opportunity for a free trip. Because Dalyn was already going our hotel was covered, so basically all we had to pay for was mine and the babies food. It ended up working out perfectly because Dalyn really only had to be at the conference for a day and half. So we spent the rest of the time roaming around, exploring the city. Neither of us had ever been and it was neat to take our babies for the first time.

{Monday}
Dalyn had to go to conference that afternoon but we had all morning, so we decided to drive into the city and take the kids to the National Zoo. The amazing thing, if you've never been, is that it's free. The kiddos are sooooo into animals right now and they loved it. They especially love Elephants and we really lucked up because the moment we walked in we went straight to the elephants and they were doing a show. The kids were so amazed and happy and we could've probably left at that moment and they would've been happy. Here are a few pics from our day. . . .

{Tuesday}
We packed a lunch and headed in to the city on the subway for a day of exploring. The kids were such troppers. They rode in their stroller great all day, ate great and even napped great in their stroller. It made for a much more enjoyable day for us and them! Here are some pics of the sights we seen that day.

We had a wonderful time in DC, I can't wait to take the babies back in the future when they can understand a little more about everything. I highly recommend going, if you haven't ever been. There are so many things to do and see. And a large number of them are FREE! I could have seriously spent two whole days just shopping! haha

Cooking 101

So I know by now you've all heard about pinterest. And if you haven't, get on over there because your seriously missing out. Week before last I was tired of our ho-hum meal plans, so I decided I was going to cook my way through my pinterest recipes. Now, I admit, I've got a lot pinned so I didn't get far but I did cook dinner almost every night from there. I thought I would give a little play by play of my recipes, what we liked and didn't like, etc.

Monday -

I had a regular dish that I cook but I had a side from pinterest. Let me just for warn you, this is so good you might eat the whole dish in one sitting.

We had Honey Sauced Chicken in crockpot. Now, I'm a huge fan of anything you throw in the crock pot. This recipe was good but i wasn't crazy over it and neither was the hubs.

Thursday -

Yum Yum Chicken

I've made a variation of this recipe before and I'll have to say I liked it a little better. The main difference is that I use Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Chicken. This is a great comfort food recipe though!

Friday -

Let me start by saying, I love soup! If it's got "soup" in the name, I'll try it at least once. Now I've tried before (VERY unsuccessfully) to make potato soup. So when I found the recipe it seems so simple. It worked out perfectly because I was feeling a little under the weather and OOOO did this hit the spot. It was so delicious. I ended up eating it for quite a few days after. As you can see below I topped mine with cheese and bacon. The main difference I used from the recipe below is I used the little square hash brown potatoes. But you must try this recipe.

Funk

I've been in a major blogging funk this year. And I just realized how sad it makes me because so much has happened this year and I've failed to record it. So I'm gonna play a little catch-up for the next couple of weeks and my New Year's Resolution is to do a better job keeping up with my blog. A little bit to my defense is that I've got 5 posts from the last month saved in my drafts! So hopefully I'll get those up. Life has been so crazy busy with two toddlers. When they are awake I'm constantly on, trying to make sure they aren't eating crayons, beating each other up, playing in poop, eating dog food, you get the idea? When they're asleep I'm trying to get stuff done around the house or just to plain sleepy to get my fingers to work. So if you thought my blog was dead, prepare for overload! hahaha I'm gonna get these 4 or 5 knockout in the next few days. *fingers crossed*

Tough

So I've been thinking a lot since my dismissal from my job on Monday. What I could've done differently, what I learned, what I will take moving forward, and what I will leave behind. A few years ago Dalyn brought this clipping from the newspaper home and for whatever reason I held onto it and as I was searching for a pen I ran across this clipping. Here is what it read . . . .

"Lincoln, through, doesn't know any other way to approach it. He credits his family and coaches for helping him become mentally tough, as well as his tendency to be his harshest critic.
"When I lay my head down in bed after I pray and I think about the day that I just lived, I think about the day that I'm going to get up and live the next day, " Lincoln said Sunday. "It's not about letting the things that happened to you in the past eat you up. It's about learning from them, coming back, not taking a thing for granted and being mentally tough in that respect""

The last two lines struck me pretty intensely. I have done nothing but examine the entire situation that has unfolded in my life the past few weeks leading up to Monday. And I guess you could say in some regard it was eating me up. Although, I was dwelling on them, I wasn't really try to learn from them or come back. So today I decided to make a change. What happened, happened. It's now the past in my life and nothing I could do or say today would change that outcome. But honestly, I'm perfectly okay with that. A lot of my issue was this search for acceptance I think. This was the one time if my 'working life' that I hadn't been welcomed with open arms. That I hadn't had a great working relationship with my co-workers. That I was just plain miserable in my job. So today, I got out of bed at 6:45, got ready, put on some of my nicest clothes and went on a job interview. I walked in confidentially, I held my head high, I talked about my strongest assets as a person and employee, I was the person I've always been. Confident in who I was as a person, but also as an employee. I'm not confident that I'll get the job but I think it helped me come full circle with the events that have unfolded the last few weeks. I wasn't the person they had made me out to be. I wasn't the person I had seen myself become. I am going to come back and in my next job I'm going to do great things!

Short Lived

My life as a working mom that is. And no it wasn't by choice. Yes, that's right, yesterday I was fired, canned, axed! However you say it, I was let go. Now, let me just start by saying, I have never been fired from a job. Not in high school or college or ever! I take great pride in doing a good job in the workplace. So yesterday when I was asked to step into the drs office with the office mgr, I was floored when he said I was being let go. Was this really happening? I was so mad, embarrassed, surprised, I honestly didn't have a clue what to say or do. He said most of the deciding factors of letting me go was that they were so slow and couldn't afford me. But, he did say there were also a few smaller factors that he didn't want to go into unless I wanted to. And by that I heard 'these are the real reasons we're letting you go but this is the one we're using to try and help you save face.' So my next statement was, actually I would like to go into it. I mean if I screwed up, I wanna know how. Now, let me stop here and say, since the first day I started working one of the front office girls has had major issues with me. MAJOR! I mean, go out of her way to be a B* to me. And a few weeks back the drs pulled me into their office to ask if I was happy and I went into the issues I was having with her. I thought maybe that would calm things down some but I"m not sure they really seen it my way. So I had a pretty solid feeling a lot of my being "let go" actually had to do with her. To some of my defense it did. She made my working life miserable. So from the second I walked in I was on the defense and apparently that was pretty apparent and the drs felt like I had a bad attitude. And I"m not gonna lie, I probably did. But, never once, not once, did I let that follow through to patients. They didn't see it that way and so I was the one to hit the door. So this morning I woke up at 8am and in a few minutes my babes are going to be stirring and I'm going to scoop them out of their cribs and I'm never looking back. Most of my hurt is really for Dalyn. And let me say he was in no way upset or mad at me. But I took this job in hopes to get us better off financially, with the hopes of being able to buy him a practice soon. But apparently, God has other plans so for now I'm trusting him and hoping for something way better to come along! And I'm gonna enjoy spending my free time with these two cuties

So I'm back to the blogging world. And to be honest I'm pretty excited about that too. I'm excited to start catching back up with all my old blogs. And maybe this had given me some motivation to get some of my craft projects done! Hope you all have a great week!

Dead or Alive

Yes, we are all still alive and well here in our household. We have had LOTS of big changes in the last few months. One, very big change that's taken me away from the computer, internet and blog a lot more often.

I went back to work! Yes, I'm officially no longer a SAHM. I have to admit it's really very strange. I was out of work for about a month and half before the babies were born and never went back after they were born. We are in a massive save all we can and pay off as much debt as we can mode. Which is hopefully going to bring even bigger changes in the next year. I ended up taking a job at another dentist office in town which is kind of strange considering Dalyn is a dentist. So far on a scale of 1 to 10 of how much I like it I would give it a 3! haha No really, it's not even that I miss my kids (which I do so terribly much that I cried everyday for the first week or so over everything), it's more that I'm just not crazy about my co-workers. I won't elaborate much more than that but I think my tolerance for people is a lot less than it use to be before I had kids. Drama drives me even more crazy and people who don't have respect for you as a person really creeps under my skin. So it's been an interesting few weeks to say the very least.

So, I know your next question is going to be what we're doing with the kids. What, does anyone still ready anymore? hahaha We found an amazing daycare for an amazing ridiculous price and with the whole point of me going back to work being SAVING, we decided to hire a nanny. We started in the most unlikely of places, with my dad! He's retired and doesn't really have a lot going on back home so he volunteered to keep the babies for 1/4 of the price of daycare. So for now that's our plan. I think we'll go with it through maybe November or December and then re-access.

Okay bloggy readers I have so much more to blog about but 6am comes way to early. Hopefully, I'm gonna get back into a routine and start blogging more. I also have TONS of pictures to upload.

Play Nice, Hurricane Irene

In case you've been living under a rock, Hurricane Irene is quickly coming on land in Eastern North Carolina. We left yesterday afternoon, something we've had planned for weeks but worked out to be perfect timing. As you go to bed tonight, please say a prayer for all our friends and everyone in ENC. In the area where Dalyn works they are estimating water to be 7-11ft above ground by late tomorrow afternoon. The county we live in is under hurricane, tornado, and flood warnings. Our plans were to head back Sunday but we're just going to play that by ear. I pray that if you leave in the path that you stay safe and it turns out to be not as bad as they predicted!

swim like a fish

I have loved water since as far back as I can remember. I remember jumping off the high dive at our community pool when I was a mear 5. Dalyn is equally as fond of the water. So, we knew of course we wanted our children to share the same love of water as we do. They love the bath and always have, so I didn't think it would be to much of a challenge. We have an awesome swim school here that was created by the first swim coach ever at ECU. Everyone knows about it and RAVES about it. I set out in the spring to get the kids enrolled in swim classes there. I had no idea everyone else in Eastern NC had the same idea! Apparently, there is a huge wait every summer. I was sure we weren't gonna get in this year but I got a call at the end of July saying they had two openings in the time slot we desired, could be come. Of course I jumped on the opportunity. It was 30 minutes a day, 4 days a week for two weeks.

Day 1 arrived and I was so excited I could barely contain myself. The kids could've cared less I think. Luckily, my dad was still in town so we had our own little photographer for the whole thing. Did I mention we have lots of pics of our kids? The kids did far better than I expected, learned far more than I would've imagined and I think were really sad to not be going back. I got the inside scoop on how to get in next year so hopefully, we'll be headed back early Spring next year! Here are some pictures from our awesome adventure!

Where to Start

I have so much to update on that I honestly don't even know where to start. I think that's why its taken me so long to get a post going. Before I get to updating on our life and family can I please just update you on the happenings today.

1. We had an earthquake! Okay well a tremor anyways. In NC!

2. We are about to be hit by a Cat. 3 hurricane!

Really, mother nature, we need a break in ENC! haha I think it's crazy that we felt a tremor today. They are checking all this stuff like gas lines, etc that i never even knew about. Hope anyone or their families that were involved are ok!

So, where to start. I want to give some things post of their own. But one thing that can be included in this jumble is that I took the plunge into mommyhood. Okay, I know your thinking, didn't you have two kids 15 months ago? Wasn't that the real plunge? Nope, a mini-van was the real plunge. We bought a Tahoe before the kids were born and thought it would be great. I wasn't anywhere ready for a van then. Dalyn had been driving his car for, well, a long time! And it was about to bite the dust, so in order to afford him we had to trade my Tahoe but I needed something that would still be functional. So I got a mini-van. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and I LOVE IT! I'm 5'3" on a good day and it took everything I had to haus the babies back up in their carseats. It is so easy to get them in and out now! Not to mention the storage. We really wanted 3 rows of seating and we got that with the Tahoe but no storage behind that 3rd row. Now we have TONS of space behind the 3rd row. Although, it's maybe not as cool as the Tahoe it much more practical. And let's facing it, I'm racing ever so close to 30, mom of 2, thinking about expanding in the future, driving a cool car isn't in my future for a long time!

Dalyn's mom and my dad came down to visit a few weeks ago! I LOVE family. We are so far away from family and it feels like such a welcome change to see people we love and who are so familiar to us. My dad decided to stay for a few weeks to help with the babies, PRAISE THE LORD! because they have been handfuls for the past few weeks! I don't know what happened to my sweet, playful, easy babies but they are quickly turning into out of control toddlers! But to their defense they have been doing some major teething, so I think they get the pass.

Whatchamacallit

We called it 'sassy' most of the time.

I've heard it called 'binky'
I've heard it called 'Bo-Bo'
I've heard it called 'La-la'
I've heard it called 'ga-ga'
I've heard it called 'mo-mo'
I've heard it called 'paci'

Call it what you will but you can call it 'Gone' from this household.

That's right, Friday night I decided I was going to take a leap of faith and put Finley to bed with her 'sassy.' Normally, the minute we go to walk out of her room and she doesn't have it she has a huge meltdown. But Friday night was different. She laid in there and groaned and grunted and talked but never once cried until she fell asleep about 20 minutes later. And didn't roll over or make a sound until her normal time of about 9:30ish the next morning.

So, no turning back now. It's 'gone'!! And the transition was a billion times easier than I could've ever imagined. Baby girl, you are growing up to fast but I'm so proud of how easily you adapt to change and each new stage in your life! Mommy loves you!!

Now if we can just break Landry from sucking his thumb as easily!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Back the first of June we took the babies to their first minor leagues baseball game. I couldn't find where I had previously blogged about it and I ran across the pictures today and they were to cute not to share. Of course, they could've really cared less about the game! Dalyn and I LOVE baseball. Since we first started dating we've always lived around a minor league baseball team, so we've always spent summers going to the games. It was so fun to go now as a family of 4.

finley & landry {twelve-fourteen month recap}

Like my creative title? LoL! I haven't updated on the babies recently or well in two months so while they were napping and while I had some time I wanted to catch up on some blogging. They are doing so much and have changed so much since the last recap I feel like I don't even know where to begin really.

finley marie

at fourteen months:

{weight} you weight about 21 1/2lbs

{height} i have no clue but I'm guessing around 28" I could be way off on that too!

{diapers} size 4

{clothes} 12 mos and some 18 mos

{sleep} you are sleeping about 13 hours at night and taking a 3 hour nap during the day

{teeth} you have 10 teeth, including all 8 front teeth and two top molars

{food/milk/etc} you are drinking about 12-16 oz of whole milk. your favorite food right now is probably hot dogs or corn. But your ultimate favorite is still blueberries! You are eating 3-4 meals and 2-3 snacks. Sometimes our schedule gets messed up and I offer you an additional lunch or dinner meal

{sippie/cup} you are using either Tommee Tippiee straw sippie or drinking cup. We usually do the straw for juice/water and the drinking cup for milk. you love water and drink out of a plastic water bottle like a champ!

{walking} you are running!! EVERYWHERE! you absolutely love you new independence! you are extremely picky about the shoes you will wear. Little DIVA! haha I got you the cutest little pink converse and from the second they go on your feet you scream! Your favorite shoes are your pink rainbow flip flops.

{talking} you are a chatter box. you talk non-stop and although most of it is un-reconizable you do have something things that we definitely understand. I may forget some but here we go, all done, i love you (which sounds like i ya ya, but you will repeat those some words every time we ask), dog, that, go, bye-bye, mama, dada, allie (our dog), juice, hi, shoe. Um, I know there are a couple more. You will sign 'all done.' It's funny because you think 'all done' and 'all gone' mean the same thing, so if something is 'all gone' you will sign 'all done' to me.

{other stuff} you have what I feel like it the most amazing understanding on commands and such. For example, the other day I asked you to go get Landry's snack trap and take it to him. You walked across the kitchen got his trap and carried it all the way in the living room to him, without thinking twice. When we ask you to put something back or pick it up you understand and follow. You will close the door when we ask you to. When we ask you if your ready for a bath, you'll go to the bathroom door. When we ask if your ready for bed, you go round up your lovies (if your ready that is!). It just amazes me the stuff you understand. You have also starting pointing at EVERYTHING. If you want it, you point. If you want to watch tv, you point. If you want your milk, you point. If you don't know what something is but are curious, you point. Let me think what else. Oh, we turned your carseats around forward facing this weekend. I'll include that in my "week in review pics."

{other stuff} you also have a pretty amazing understanding of commands, too! Once of the most impressive things that you do I think is, we have Mickey book that has several dogs in it. When you ask you to get your book and show the dogs, you go find that book and can point out the dogs. Your a pointer, too. You have started to get a little bit of temper when you don't get your way and we've started to discipline for that so you understand what is the right way to act. Oh, you LOVE LOVE LOVE a balloon! The second we walk into the grocery store you look for the balloons because you know exactly where they are. We never leave the store without one (luckily our store gives out free ones to kids).

You are truly growing into a little girl and boy and are not babies anymore. It amazes me from month to month what you both are doing and how fast you are changing. You are both such a job to be around! You both tend to have happy, free-loving, easy-going personalities. It's so hard to believe that we're starting to celebrate 'second' holidays now with you two in our lives. God could not have blessed me with two more perfect little babies!! I am so thankful for both of you!

What to Feed 'Em {part iii}

My kids seriously cannot get enough of this casserole. They eat it the night it's fixed and are happy to eat it as leftovers as often as I want to fix it for them. Its super quick and easy and we love it too!

Cheesy Beef Spirals

Ingredients:

1 box uncooked spiral pasta
2 pounds ground beef
2 small onions, chopped
2 garlic clove, minced
1 jar (26 ounces) Hunt’s® Spaghetti Sauce Traditional*
1 jar (4-1/2 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 pound process cheese (Velveeta), cubed **
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

*I ususally use Ragu Chunky Mushroom, so use whatever you'd like

**I ususally used sliced (American) cheese instead. And it normally takes about 6 slices. It's just what I always have on-hand

Directions:

1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, cook the beef, onions and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and mushrooms; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

2. Drain pasta; place half the noodles in bottom of a greased shallow 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Top with 1/2 of the meat sauce. Top with sliced cheese or Velveeta cheese. Then spread with sour cream. Top with remaining noodles, then meat sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over top.

3. Cover and bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. Uncover; bake 5-10 minutes longer or until bubbly. Yield: 8-10 servings.

that's how I feel about my blog! haha We have had so much going on the last few weeks that I don't even know where to start.

I've been interviewing like mad for jobs. Dalyn and I have a year left here in Greenville and we decided it would be best for our future if I went back to work. It would allow us to save up a good deal of money before our year is over and hopefully put us in a better situation to purchase a practice. I can't even count how many interviews I've been on at this point but I've only been offered one and the pay was so low I wouldn't even break even with daycare costs. Nevertheless, I know something great is out there for me so I'll continue to march on despite all the rejection! haha

I've been working on a few side things to help us earn some money also. I've been selling stuff like mad on eBay. I've made some pretty good bank selling stuff on there. Even though I have to pay additional fees I feel like I get a much better and more serious response from my stuff off eBay than Craigslist. I have also been sewing non-stop in my free time. I have a lot of stuff piling up that I'm thinking about starting a etsy store. I also potentially have another business venture in the works.

The big really crappy news is that our renter that was leasing our house in Nashville, TN decided to stop paying his rent. He had started getting a really bad payment history going and since November its just gotten worse. We had decided we had, had enough and were about to proceed with eviction proceeding when he informed us he would be moving out. With all the back rent and late fees he owes us somewhere in the neighborhood of $4k!! So needless to say we had to hire a lawyer anyways because I'm gonna do everything I can to re-coup that money. I asked him(the tenant) before he moved out if the carpets needed to be cleaned or lawn mowed or what needed to be done to the house. His response was nothing, the house is in tip-top shape. We hired a property manager to take over leasing this house from this point forward because from 14 hours away it's just not possible. I over-nighted her keys Friday and she went into the house Sunday. And of course you might know, he hadn't moved all his stuff out!!! And the house was a filthy mess!!! I'm not sure pigs would have inhabited that place. Makes me so sad to see. That was our first house as a married couple. That was where we started out marriage. We had some AMAZING memories in that house!! So his idea of tip-top shape, turned into a $1k cleaning job later. UGH!! So I've been dealing with that for about the last 3 weeks. Hopefully, we're on the up side and it will be re-rented in no time!

What else. . . . hum. I've been busy with doing stuff for my local multiples group! We're in the midst of selling cookbooks! And trying to do all types of planning, etc to help out group grow and prosper. If you are a member of a multiples group out there, I'd love to pick your brain on some stuff if you'd be willing to email with me!

I know there is probably lots I"m forgetting in our daily lives that have been going on but I"m hoping to get a couple of other posts up in the next few days, including a post about the babies (since they turned 14 mos, yesterday) and also a post on what to feed 'em!

Food Allergies

Well, I think we've officially crossed all highly allergic foods off our list and I'm happy to announce we seem to be allergy-free. (i hope im not gonna jinx myself) Neither the hubs nor I have allergies but for some reason I was terrified of my kids having allergies. I know so many kids with allergies and their parents are always on edge. I guess I was afraid I would get OCD over it and my kids would never get to explore tastes and foods!

After a semi-scary experience a fees weeks back at Olive Garden where we thought we were experiencing a shrimp allergy, I decided to let Landry try shrimp this last week. Oh my goodness, he chowed down! I don't know if I've ever seen that little boy eat so much. Finley just, egh, liked them ok. I've since then fixed them shrimp for dinner and still a huge hit!! I'm so happy I can add some other meat(kinda) to my regular menu.

It also really makes my heart smile at how much my boy loves seafood! My mom LOVED seafood when she was alive. We use to have it at least once or twice a week. She could steam the best crap legs! She would be so proud of how much her grandson loves seafood too!!

iPhone Apps

This title could be misleading because I'm sure these apps may also be available on android or whatever type phone you have, I just am not familiar with them.

I've been wanting to write a post for a while about iPhone apps I have that I love! You know, those apps you use on an everyday basis. I thought I would break it into two sections; mommy apps and kiddos apps.

Mommy Apps:
1. Of course my social networkings apps, where would I be without them! Haha. Facebook and twitter

2. My blogger apps that I love. In case you don't notice at the bottom of a lot of my post they come from my iPhone. I use BlogPress for writing posts and then I use an app called BlogReader to read the blogs I follow on a daily basis. BlogReader is a bit tedious at first because you have to manually enter all the site addresses but once entered your good to go. You can even comment on blogs the way you normally would on the computer.

3. Gossip apps! Haha this one is a bit ridiculous! I use People magazine and TMZ app to get my daily doses of celebrity gossip.

4. Photography apps! My most favorite app by far and wide is Instagram. But I also have picplz which is similar.

5. Shopping apps! I love a good deal, I mean who doesn't? So one of my most favorite shopping apps is amazon deals. They run deals on their websites on there and they have some pretty awesome deals. I also love my eBay app. I buy and sell a lot of stuff on eBay so I love having it on my phone on the go! I'm also obsessed with Etsy and for my Etsy shopping I love Etsy Lovers. Best of all they just added a new upgrade where you can now purchase directly from the app.

6. I could've probably grouped this in the blog section but I've been wanting to write a dedicated post to this so I'll give it it's own number instead. I recently joined the Twin Stuff community. If you are a twin mom or even triplets or quads you definitely need to check it out. It's www.twinstuff.com. And it's totally free to join. It's an amazing forum group of women and some men I think, who are just here to provide support, encouragement, advice, etc. If you have a question or are dealing with a problem it's a great place to go for advice. So I have an app called IPB, and I can read the forums on TwinStuff without having to have a computer.

Kids Apps:
I've just started allowing the kids to play some games on my phone. Mostly because they're still not really careful with it. But I have been giving them more and more freedom to sit in my lap and play games on it. So here is a quick list of games I have downloaded that seem to be pretty age appropriate and that they like.

1. Peekaboo Barn - I think there are several 'Peekaboo' apps but for now they love Peekaboo Barn and have it completely figured out. We've even learned what a cow and dog says from it.

2. I Hear Ewe - This is similar to Peekaboo Barn. I would say its just ok, but they have a lot more sounds.

3. DoodleBuddy - Landry for what ever reason LOVES this app. He just laughs as he draws. Finley, however, is not some impressed.

4. abc Lite - although they can't quite get into it I see it being a great app in the future. I think you might have to buy the full version to get the whole alphabet but I'm not positive.

5. Play Phone - the kids love to press numbers on the phone, however, mommy doesn't care to dial 911 on a regular basis. So they love this app and it's also good for learning.

6. Baby Piano - they absolutely love this app! Landry loves music period so anything that he can make music with is a hit in his book.

Week in Review {week 3}

This week we tried something new. It's not often that we are trying new things in the house but I ran across Nutella at the grocery store the other day. I had never tried it and the babies had never either. So I grabbed us a jar! Oh my, we had no idea what we're missing!!!! I loved it and they loved it! The proof is in the pictures . . . .

We've discovered that for whatever reason Finley is always carrying something around when she walks. My grandmother says it helps balance her but I have no idea!

Landry on the other hand finds it much easier to carry it in his mouth!

We've been trying to teach the concept of "share", however when it comes to his truck he has none of it!

Oh! I purchased a new stroller this week. I wanted a lite-weight side by side and after a lot of weight I got the Baby Jogger City Mini. I love my Baby Jogger City Select so I figured I couldn't go wrong with another. It's probably a little bigger than I wanted for a side by side but I also wanted something that I could get some miles out of. It retails new for $429 but I found on on Craiglist about 30 minutes from my house and got it for $260!! It's 2011 model and in excellent shape! I can't wait to get to use it and see what the babies think of it!

Finley is having this thing about removing her own diaper whenever she can get to it. We haven't had any accidents and it hasn't happened when it's dirty so its not been a big deal really. The other night she came marching into the living room from her bedroom and when I looked up this is what I saw . . . .

This is what the weather was like this past week. Hot & Humid! luckily we didn't get rain and storms everyday! If you'll notice I took this at 10:30 and it was already 80!

I just love these dimples!! They melt my heart away!

I've also been lovin' on the instagram app on my phone for a few months now. I don't know if it's available on android or blackberry but if you have an iPhone you should def try it. This is the picture above changed with it.

ANY CUTIER!!???? Maybe it's just because they're mine.

We did the babies one year pictures Friday, or I guess I should say we started them! And we got a sneak peek over the weekend! Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE having their pictures taken. I stress about it so much but I am always so pleased with the results. We did 3 outfits this time and then I have 3 more for the follow-up shoot. What can I say I have a hard time deciding! So here is the sneak peek!

The Week in Review {Week 2}

We went to a cookout of a good friend's last week. Her twinies had this table and my kiddos were all over it. Since we had some extra b-day money left over for them we decided it would be a good investment and something that would grow with them. Plus the top pops off and makes a sand/water table. They love it and we do lots of snacks there!

Our Mothers of Multiples group is doing a cookbook fundraiser. It went to print this week and we got the proof. It's so cute with tons of great recipes. If your interested in purchasing one, they are $10 and I'll ship it to you for free (shameless plug)

Pidder Patter

I would say Finley has been an 'official' walker for about a week now. She's been standing up, sans help, and walking until she falls and then crawling the rest of the way. Well, last week the light switched came on and she just started walking full time.

Landry has been doing about the same. Standing up walking 4-8 steps and plopping down to crawl. Well, yesterday the light switch went off for him too and he's been cruising around the house all morning!

Oh BOY! They are busy bees now! As if they weren't already into everything, now they realize they can reach on top of tables and all kinds of fun stuff. NOW the "official" baby-proofing begins. I'm about to go buy a cheap-o trash can that will fit in our pantry so the kiddos will leave it alone! And I guess we'll just store our nice one until it's not quite as intriguing.

The babies turned 13 months last week, so I'm hoping to get that post up soon but my week in review is coming a little later today.

One of my best friends, Casey, welcomed her third beautiful child into the world today! I was so over-joyed this morning that I cried. Casey was an amazing support for me through infertility, pregnancy and now motherhood. I can't imagine not having her by my side. It makes my heart ache so bad that I couldn't be there today and that I don't know when I'll get the chance to meet Miss Stella. We got to help them welcome Liam, their second, into the world, so we are sad we couldn't be there to meet Stella. But we are so thrilled for Jonathan, Casey, Nora & Liam and we can't wait to get to Knoxville and meet Stella! Love you guys!!

Our Schedule {12 months}

So I was trying to remember what the babies schedule was at around 4ish months the other day and I realized I couldn't! YIKES!! I also quickly came to realize that I don't think I had it documented anywhere either. So this time next year when someone asks me what our 12 month schedule was like I'm going to have it written down! haha So here is what our daily schedule looks like. . .

9 ish - Wake-up - - Good Morning, Sleepy Heads !!

9ish-9:30ish - Breakfast

9:30ish-10:30ish - Play-time

10:30ish - Snack

11ish-1:30ish - Nap-time

1:30ish-2:00ish - Lunch (yes, we eat a really late lunch but it works for us!)

2:00ish-3:00ish - Play-time

3:00ish- Snack

3:30ish-5:30ish - Nap-time

5:30ish-6:00ish - Babies Dinner Time

6:30ish-7:00ish - Parents Dinner Time (we usually still sit the babies in their high chair with us at the dinner table and they have a snack during this time)

8:30ish-9:00ish - Bath-time, Snack&Sippy-time

9:00ish-9:30ish - Bed-time

So there you have it. At the moment I'm considering going back to work, so I think it may change very soon but for now it works GREAT for us!!

What To Feed 'Em {part ii}

A while back I joined in on a little series about ideas, recipes and such to feed you kids. I haven't participated in a pretty good while but I've recently ran across 2 really good recipes that my kiddos LOVE! Landry use to be super picky but is now really opening up to a lot more stuff (which helps). I've also discovered he has a major love of, wait for it, BACON! the kid will down some bacon! So lots of morning when all else fails, bacon it is. Haha

Breakfast Casserole

(although I must say this doesn't have to only be eaten for breakfast, its delicious at any time)

Ingredients:

-- 2 lbs frozen hash browns

-- 1 can cream chicken soup

-- 1/2 cup margarine, melted

-- 2 cup diced ham

-- 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

-- (opt) a little green pepper & onion (i didn't used this)

Topping

-- 2 cup crushed cornflakes

-- 1/4 cup margarine, melted

Directions:

Mix together hash browns, soup, margarine, ham and cheese. Add to 13X9 baking dish. Top with cornflakes topping. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Cubed Steak

Ingredients:

-- 6 cubed steaks

-- 1 can cream mushroom soup

-- 1 can roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup

-- 1 can whole milk

-- 1 tbsp butter

-- 1 tbsp oil

-- Salt & pepper to taste

-- Garlic powder to taste

-- Creole seasoning to taste (opt)

Directions:

Season both sides of steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder and creole seasoning. Add butter and oil to pan and add steaks. Brown both sides being careful not to over cook. Once brown, add both can of soup and milk. Allow to simmer for around 20 minutes. Once done I removed the steaks and added a little flour to thicken the gravy just a little.

**We love this with mash potatoes, the gravy goes great over them!**

**Also, you could use two plain cans of cream of chicken soup if so desired**

I've also found my kids love Ella's Kitchen baby food. What I think intrigues them most is that they can feed themselves. Right now we're also loving GoGo squeez applesauce, simply fruit roll-ups, mum-mum rice biscuits, stonyfield yokids squeezers and del Monte fruit cups. The other thing that I've found that my kids are really loving right now is Hormel Complete Kids Meals. Here is a picture . . .

I don't know that they are the absolute healthiest things ever but the kids love them for lunch! And I'm kind of learning at this point that sometimes its just what I can get them to eat.

Discipline & Play Time

Don't faint, I'm posting two days in a row.

Discipline and Play Time are two completely different subjects but two things I'm really struggling with right now. So I guess let's start with the hard subject first, Discipline . . . .

Lately, the babies have been pushing limits and seeing what is acceptable. Maybe the fact that I realize that's what they are doing is half the battle but I feel like I'm constantly telling them no. So much so that last night when Landry made a b-line for the trash can and I said Landry, he shook his head no!! He knows not to touch it!! I try to keep things that I don't want the to really bother away but I also know they need to learn boundaries and limits. We've popped a few hands here and there but they don't really seem to understand. I have no quam about popping butts but I feel like it needs to be kept for things a little more serious. Advice? My other discipline issue is with Finley. She is a fierce biter! But it's mostly when she doesn't get her way and mostly directed towards her brother. A lot of times I might not always catch her in the act so I don't want To discipline her for something she did 10 minutes ago. But if I do catch her in the act I still really don't know what to do. Will this behavior just go away over time?

Now on to more light-hearted subjected. PLAY TIME! :-) In the last 3 to 4 weeks I've noticed the twins become more independent in their play time together and with each other. I know its good for them to learn this and they do pretty well together. Lots of times if they are playing together in the living room and will both make a b-line for the bedroom to play more 'independently.' I will normally allow them to play for about 5 minutes or so before checking on them. But I'm curious if I should allow more independent play time in their room together? At this age should I even allow it at all? There isn't really anything they can hurt or that will hurt them in there so I feel like its a pretty safe play area. Maybe this is just a part of them getting older and I'm resistant to letting it happen. Haha!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Friday was my birthday! I love that my b-day is just a few weeks after the babies because I feel like they were the amazing birthday present EVER! I mean I'm not sure how my husband could ever top it.

We started out the birthday weekend with dinner Thursday night with friends at Olive Garden. We haven't been there since the babies started eating 100% table foods but they did good and gobbled down lots of new food. After Landry was getting close to being done he started fussing (which he's normally pretty content in his high chair until we're done). He started to really get made so I got him out and gave him some Little Tummies just in case he was getting a belly ache from all the new stuff. A few minutes later it really escalated and Dalyn decided to take him outside. I stay with Finley and our friends when about 15 minutes later the hostesses comes back to our table and says 'are you the mother of the screaming little boy?.? Immediately my heart kind of dropped and I said 'yes, is he still screaming?.' Her response 'yes, and your husband says he needs you NOW.' I leave Finley with our friends to rush out and see if I can help. When I got to walk out the door I see Dalyns face and let me tell you my normally calm, cool and collected hubby had panic and worry written all over his face. So I knew it couldn't be good. He said I think we need to take him somewhere, he was getting hives and his face was getting all blotchy and had been non-stop screaming at the stop of his lungs for the last 20 minutes. Waves of nausea steam across my stomach as I b-line back to the back to the restaurant, throw my crap in the diaper bag, get the high chairs together, get Finley and rush back out the door. In the 2 minutes it takes to buckle him he he stops SCREAMING! long enough for us to decide we'll just drive him cross town to urgent care instead of wait for ambulance.
**let me just make a side note here. I have never in my life felt like I did in those insane 10 minutes it took us to get there. I don't know how you mothers with sick children have the strength to deal with it day in and out.**
We pull into urgent care I hop out and rush in with him. They call us back and by the time they get his temp and weight and we get back to a room this was what he looked like . . . . .

Does this look like a screaming, hived little boy who is having an allergic reaction? NOPE! He was laughing, screaming, tearing paper and having a big time when our pedi walked in. By that point all we could do was LAUGH! We felt like complete idiots. Ultimately, we think he had a really severe belly ache and was bit by something while Dalyn had him outside or because he's never thrown a fit like that, maybe he gets hives when he gets extremely upset. Either way he is 100% OK! and we look like idiots! LoL! And that was the kick off to my birthday weekend.

Friday, was my birthday. That morning, I fixed my favorite breakfast, got sweet cards from my babies and hubby. For lunch they took me to my favorite Indian place down town. I captured a video of the babies favorite thing right now.

On Friday night one of our good friends came over to pressure wash our back deck for us in preparation for our get-together Saturday night. They have Davis who is about 2-1/2 months. After dinner the babies were all about him. They kept wanting to rock his car seat.

Saturday began preparations for out get together. I am one of those people that when company comes I think my house has to be spotless from top to bottom. So we spent all day cleaning and getting some of the food together. We fixed tons of food. I don't know why I thought we needed so much but pretty much all of it was gone. We had a wonderful night celebrating with our closest friends here in town. The babies had a busy busy night and didn't go down until 10 PM but were such little troopers.

Sunday, we re-cooperated. Haha! We had a really busy weekend. I did make Dalyn take me out to shop for a vacuum. I'm in the market for a new vacuum. Any suggestions?

Overall, I had an amazingly blessed birthday. And the world didn't end Saturday, which was a plus! Haha!! It's hard to celebrate just one day as your birthday when you feel like everyday you wake up to the most amazing gifts ever! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are having a good start to the week!

First Birthdays' & First Haircuts'

We traveled back to WNC so the babies could share their first birthday surrounded by family and friends who love them so dearly. The babies and I packed up and headed back the Tuesday before their party and then the hubby joined us on Friday. I was so happy to have him back with us! We had their first birthday party of May 7, which was Saturday instead of on their birthday which was Thursday. We had right at 40 people show up to celebrate the big day! Our babies surely are loved. One thing i knew for sure was that I didn't want to have to spend the entire day behind the camera so my mother-in-law and I split a professional photographer and I have to say . . . BEST MONEY I SPENT FOR THE DAY!. We got amazing pictures and we all still got to enjoy the day in front of the camera. Well here we are just 3 days away from the big day!! Our 1st Birthdays!!! It's so crazy to think that a full year has come and gone. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect year. I told my MIL yesterday that I was so emotional because I wasn't sure we would ever be celebrating first birthdays but that I was so thankful God gave me my beauties for a full year as I know many of you out there have angel babies that celebrating their first birthdays in the most amazing place every. I have had an insane few weeks but I wanted to do a recap of the last month before they turn one. I have lots of updates including their first birthday party which was yesterday.

During your 11th month a lot has changed. Finley you experienced you first ear infection and virus. It was no fun for mommy, daddy or you. Unfortunately, you passed it to brother so he got to experience his first right along with you. Finley you are weighing about 18lbs 7oz and Landry you are weighing about 17lb 7oz. This month we transitioned to whole milk and table food. And just in the past two weeks we've transitioned away from the bottle completely. I couldn't be more prouder of you both at what an easy transition its been. Now, Finley, if I can just get you to drop the paci that easy I'll be in business. Finley, you are definitely my eater. You aren't really picky and will try anything. The only thing I've found so far you won't eat in oatmeal. Landry, you are my seriously over picky eater. And if you don't want to eat it your not going to. Your most favorite food is banana, so it's always my go to. Finley, you are standing up like a champ. I walk in the room or turn around and your standing in the middle of the floor with nothing around you. In fact, I think that you think it's a trick to entertain us. At times you are willing to take about 4-6 steps and then at others you want nothing to do with walking. I think your going to be the baby that just comes into the room after me walking one day. Landry you are standing some and will maybe take a step but you set land speed crawling records so who really needs to walk when you can crawl that fast. You are both non-stop chit-chat and I can definitely tell you are developing your own communication. You will both say; ma-ma, da-da, bye, hi, dog, na-na but finley your most impressive word is bellybutton. And your version is insanely close. You are both so smart but Finley you want to copy any and everything you see. Upon asking you can both; kiss, hug, wave, clap, blow kisses, give high 5's, dance, jump and play peek-a-boo. Finley you can point out your bellybutton (hence the reason you can say bellybutton) and can also point out your head, you can do what we call ''shake it off" and head bang. Your new and most favorite this is to be chased. When I say 'i'm gonna get you' you both take off in a racing frenzy, laughing hysterically. It just melts my heart away. You are both getting much better at following commands. Finley just today I saw you pick something up off the floor but couldn't see what it was so when I questioned and say Finley what do you have, you replied by showing me the toy in your hand. You both come when we call you from another room and are leaving to give things when we ask and not to touch when we ask you not to. As of today, Finley you have 4 teeth on bottom and 3 teeth on top and Landry you still have your 4 on top and 2 on bottom. I think we are in the midst of another major tooth cutting ordeal so I wouldn't be surprised if by next week you both don't have 8 each. I know I've said it a ton but I love this stage right now. You are both little sponges and seem to soak up just about anything. And on this mother's day, my first one, I am so very blessed to have been entrusted with your sweet little lives for the past year. What an honor it truly has been. I never knew a love quite like this. Every day with you both is even better than the one before. Thank you for making me a mommy. I love you both!

And before I click the publish post button I wanted to take a moment to wish all those mommies out there a Happy Mother's Day. Unfortunately, my mommy isn't able to celebrate with me in person, my first mother days, by I know she's been by my side all day. She definitely shaped me into the mother I am today. I also want to wish a Happy Mother's Day to my amazing MIL. I know plenty of people out there who do not get along with their in-laws and sooner wouldn't put up with them but I feel very blessed to have my MIL in my life. I know she would be there for me no matter what and even though I married into her family she certainly has never treated me like an outsider. I hope you all have had an amazing Mother's Day!

Oh me, Oh my

As we enter the last week of April I realize that I've neglected my blog in a major way this month. I still want to do the babies 11 month post just so I have it recorded. My normal 'me' time during the day that I would spend blogging has been consumed by my dad being in town for the last month. Then we went out of town for a week. Then I HAD to work on the babies birthday invites and get them sent out. And then just when I thought things might calm down sickness hit!!! Now I'm in a fit of panic trying to run around and get everything done in time for their party in less than two weeks!! Also, my best friend is flying in from MI on Wednesday and then we are driving to the mountains where I'll be spending almost two weeks with family and friends. Dalyn will be joining us for one week of that. So needless to say April was busy but May is shaping up to be just as insane! I can hardly believe that in a matter of just a few weeks my sweet babies will be ONE!! Oh and which reminds me of another thing I've been busy doing. Purging!! Dalyn and I decided that it will be a while before the possibility of baby #3 enters the picture and we just don't have room for excessive baby stuff so we're having a yard sale to get rid of a lot of stuff we don't need anymore. So in the past 3 days I've sorted through 6 huge totes full of baby clothes!! And of course I kept all the really sentimental stuff. I'm going to have it made into a quilt I think! But looking back at all that tiny stuff made me realize just how little my babies were. I had about 4 outfits for Landry that were preemie and while they were skin tight he still wore them for about a week. So TINY!! But I'm loving the stage we're at right now, the babies are like sponges absorbing new stuff daily!! It's such an exciting stage. I have so much to update for them and hopefully I'll get their 11 month post up today. Lastly, since their birthday invites have gone out and everyone has seen them I thought I would give you all a sneak peak. I didn't black out any of the info so please don't be sketch and show up!! LOL unless of course I know you personally or you receive an invite!

My leading lady is pretty easily pleased when it comes to food. If you eat it, she'll at least give it a taste or 5! My main man was never really picky when it came to baby food. He was always open and loved just about anything. Now that baby food is about a thing of the past in our household I'm finding my buddy man is becoming quite the picky eater. And I'm finding myself heading back to baby food for him. I mean he won't eat anything cheese related. No grilled cheese, no mac and cheese, no broccoli and cheese, no cheese cubes, none, nada, zero! He may touch it to the end of his tongue but it's quickly spit back out.

So yesterday while we were outside enjoying the weather I was surprised that Landry climbed 4 steps (which he's never done before because there are no stairs in our house) to partake in my dads lunch sandwich. You could never in a million years guess what he was eating .......... Bologna sandwich with mayo and mustard. And my buddy man went to town on that sandwich! I've never seen him take such big bites or eat something so fast. He LOVED it! So maybe he isn't as picky as I originally thought???!!!??? Either way I was happy to see him branch out to try something new.

First 'Real' Bruise

Accident occurred on 3/29/2011!

My poor little guy has quite the issue with bumps and bruises but this is what I would call him first real bruise. My Dad has Finley outside on Tuesday and wasn't paying attention when he walked back inside and Landry feel straight out the door. Luckily, its not a long fall and this seems to be the only bruise he sustained somehow. I guess there will be many more of these in the future!

Look at these two faces! Aren't they just adorable, I could eat then up! Can't believe we're about a month away from one year olds!!

What to Feed 'Em

So I've been doing somewhat poorly blogging and keeping up with blogs lately. I don't really have an excuse other than lots of other stuff to keep me busy. So Friday I read Amy's blog at Will Work for IVF and she is doing a post every Friday about recipes and such to feed your kids. I instantly thought what an amazing idea because I often struggle with what to feed the kiddos. However, Friday's are Dalyn's day off from work and I often don't even open the computer until close to bed time if at all. So instead I thought I would just casually participate. And I'm even going to steal my post for this time. LoL! I recently picked up the March edition of Baby Talk at my BRU and found a great article in it and it's really helped me get ideas for the babes. So I thought I would pass them along to you all.

1. cubed banana rolled in puffed rice cereal
2. spears of oven-baked sweet potato (my variation is the new sweet potato fries found in my groceries freezer section. probably not as healthy but quick and easy)
3. ripe, cup-up mango
4. cereal bars, broken into small pieces (has become a quick fav in our house)
5. pieces of string cheese
6. cooked corn kernels
7. small squares of tofu
8. diced kiwi
9. diced pieces of well cooked carrots
10. tiny bits of meatballs
11. ripe avocado
12. canned black olives (cut and depitted)
13. oyster crackers
14. small gelatin cubes
15. graham crackers pieces with cream cheese and fruit spread
16. grilled cheese sandwich, torn into pieces
17. small pieces of well-cooked string beans
18. cubes of seedless watermelon
19. bran muffin bits
20. slivered strawberries
21. cooked black beans, chickpeas and soybeans mashed
22. bite-size bits of mini bagel pizzas
23. cut-up whole wheat pita and hummus
24. flakes of cooked, boneless wil salmon
25. bites of fish sticks
26. shredded chesse
27. grapefruit, cut into small pieces
28. whole-wheat toaster pancakes or waffles with yogurt, jam or baby food
29. small bits of veggie burgers (I've also been doing chicken nuggets and breakfast meats)
30. bits of cheese quesadilla with sour cream
31. slivered cherries with cream cheese
32. cheese omelet
33. meat or cheese ravioli or tortellini

Hope this gives you some good ideas!!

I have also made the recipe linked here. It seems to be a favorite with the babies right now. They even really like the mushrooms it in. And the good thing about it is that it heats up really well for lunch the follow days.

{juice} - we've backed off juice some to get you use to drinking milk with your meals.

{solids} - you are pretty much on table food only. I can't get you to eat Gerber anymore but you will eat Ella's Kitchen

Busy Week

So this week Dalyn and I are traveling to AL for a follow-up interview. I think I've never had quite so many feelings at the same time. As the weeks tick on at work, nothing gets better and Dalyn continues to hear more disheartening stories about past doctors and dentist. So I pray that God will lead us where we need to be. And in some strange way I feel like he is. We declined a job in NC last week and you would think with all the uncertainty I would be anxious but I wasn't, I was very much at peace with the decision.

So, that leads me to my question. Do you all get anxious when you travel with your kiddos? This is the first time we will be staying in a hotel since the babies started crawling and since they started bathing in a 'normal' bath tub. And I am FREAKED out about the germs!! I've packed a supply of clorox wipes for the bath tub but I can't sanitize the whole room. Suggestions?

The babies turned 10 months on Saturday and with everything going on I haven't even gotten to take 10 month pictures yet. Hopefully, soon! I just cannot believe how fast 10 months has gone by!

Welcome to the World!

Our friends, Josh & Stefanie, welcomed their little boy Davis into the world on Friday. He is absolutely adorable!! Such a handsome little man. He was very stubborn and resisted entering the world even up until the last minutes when she was rushed to have an emergency c-section. But thankfully they are both doing great and recovering well. They are headed home today, I think! What an amazing miracle and blessing! I just love a newborn baby. He's so sweet and cuddly. And I couldn't resist sharing a picture. (sorry it's a little blurry, I'll get a better one off my camera later.)

Making It

Well, here I am a week out from my last post again. I've been drawing such a big blank lately when it comes to blogging. Dalyn will probably laugh when he reads this, because the thought of me lacking something to say just never happens. We are still in the midst of Dalyn's work drama. We are going to AL next Friday for a follow-up interview to a webcam interview Dalyn had Friday. It went really well and sounds like if we like the area and agree to terms the job is ours. It's in Anniston, AL, have any of you ever heard of it? Give me a heads up if so. From what I understand it's only like an hour from ATL which I'm loving!!! We also had an interview in Fayetteville, NC but we're not as sure about it. We're waiting with our fingers crossed to also hear back from a site in Chattanooga, TN. That's the one we'd really like but at this point we'll settle for a stable position. Please continue to pray for us as we try to follow the direction that is best for our family.

The babies have been down and out with their first 'real' colds =-( It started last Thursday and hasn't really gotten any better or worse so hopefully in a few days it will get out of this house. Landry has the worst cough ever. It just breaks my heart. In other news with them, you can see all four of their top teeth poking through and the two laterals on the bottom. So in the next month or so they are going to have 8 visible teeth!!! That's insane to me. That hasn't really helped out with the colds much. They are both getting better and better at walking. We have a push behind thingy and they push it all over the living room. They are surfing the furniture and around toys and will even now transfer from toy to toy. We've gotten them both to take a few independent steps but not what I would quite label as their 'first steps' just yet. They are also starting to play really well independently. Up until now they refuse to play in the floor by themselves. If we get up and walk out of the room they are quickly following. Or if we sit in the chair they want to be help but we've noticed more and more they continue to play and pay no attention to what we're doing. They have so many little 'tricks' right now that its hard to keep up! Finley has started to lean in to Boston (our yorkie) for kisses, of course he loves it and so does she. Mommy, not so sure about it. I want her to lean in to me. And occasionally she will. She loves to play pic-a-boo and will even use her shirt if necessary. Landry loves to clap and thinks that gets him anything. He also has a kissy face that will melt your heart. But I won't get to much into anything as I'll be doing their 10 month post come Saturday.

I've also been very busy with our local Mothers of Multiples group. We are in the process of trying to do a fundraiser cookbook. Once we are ready to order I will post on here if any of you are interested in purchasing it. It has some awesome recipes so far. And we're hoping this cost will be right at $10. I was also nominated the group secretary. If you all don't belong to a MoM group, you really should. I LOVE it. And while I love my mommy friends outside the group their is just sometimes nothing like talking with other twins mommies. It's been an amazing support for me. If we move it's definitely one of the things I'll miss the most.

Also, I'm busy planning the babies first birthday. I don't want to give away to many details but we're planing on doing an owl theme. The babies nicknames are 'hoot' and screech,' and we thought it was prefect for their first birthday. Not to mention their are tons of owl stuff out there right now. I don't want to leak to many details before the party but I have found some amazing stuff on etsy I can't wait to share after it's over. (in case your wondering where the nicknames come from you can click here) I'm hoping to get invitations ordered within the next couple of weeks and then all I'll need to finalize it food and their outfits.

a little absent. I know. Maybe a lot absent.

Dalyn and I are going through a very trying time right now in our lives. And I know the minute most of you read that sentence your minds are going to immediately jump to marriage troubles. But our marriage is wonderful. Of course, we could spend more time as a 'couple' and maybe not as much as parents but hey it's just where we are in this stage of the game. We (and by we, I mostly mean Dalyn) have been going through a very difficult time with Dalyn's work. I don't want to go into tons of details but to make a very long story short they have run out of money to operate the dental clinic that Dalyn works at. They are asking (well more like forcing) him to take pay cuts, forcing him to try and get rid of staff or worse trying to force him to ask them to take pay cuts. It's not been an easy road the past few weeks and I can kind of feel that we're about to come to a crossroads. I'm sincerely afraid that as each pay period goes by Dalyn's salary may either become less or worse, none. So we have been doing a lot of talking and even more praying. We truly don't know where things are going to take us in the next few months but we are trying to trust in God's plan for us. Please pray for us.

With that said, the other reason I've been so busy is because chasing after my munchkins' is a FULL TIME JOB!! They keep me so busy that I feel like I never have any downtime. I wouldn't have it any other way but when they go down for a nap all I wanna do is sit down and relax. I've also been really busy with our local mother of multiples group. It's not a very big group so I've been working with a couple of other mothers to really try to expand the group. Hopefully, all our efforts will pay off.

Everything else is going great! I have several post that I'm working on to catch up on things. Hopefully, I will have a second soon. LoL, I feel like those have become famous last words!

Just when I think my love for you two can't grow anymore, a new day dawns and seeing your smiling faces my heart grows a little more. was my very poor attempt at a blog makeover. Stick to my day job, huh?

I found a very reasonably priced girl who I'm planning on contacting pronto to do a blog makeover. I think the wait list was about two weeks so hopefully it will be done soon.

So, I realized my previous two post, were, well, depressing. It's been a long week and half or so but I'm trying to focus on the positive. Things have been fairly quite so far this week (I hope I didn't just jinx it). Finley is in the process of cutting one of her top teeth. She's been fussy to say the least. I can see it so I'm hoping it will pop on through soon.

In other news, Dalyn and I switched from AT&T to Verizon at the end of December and we just got iPhone 4's through Verizon. I was about to die with my old Blackberry. But on the upside of it all, we just sold our old iPhone 3Gs for $200 a piece last night!! Woohoo! Talk about a money maker!

Speaking of making money. I've been meaning to post about my diaper saver but I haven't gotten a chance to. So I thought I would link y'all up with with Mommy Wants Freebies. It has all the instructions and info you need to know. Be sure to surf on over there. I buy the insane expensive Huggies Pure & Natural, it seems like when I use the regular kind Finley always gets a diaper rash. Well, by doing this I've been getting about 420 diapers for $49. That's $0.11 a diaper! If you use the cheaper kind you could get an even better deal. So be sure to check it out and start saving. ITS SUPER EASY!!

I'm still working on getting the babes 9 month post up so hopefully I will have it up by Friday. Oh and speaking of Friday, I'm going to get my hair done Friday. Which is way way way way overdue. Here's what I'm thinking. . . .

Why does my dog deem fit to pee in the floor after I've just spend the last hour vacuuming and mopping? Especially when the back door is swinging open?

On that note, why can't my house stay clean for longer than 10 min?

I'm determined all this will not ruin my Valentine's Day. We had a super fun play date with some other twin moms today and we may just be planning a little surprise for the special man in our lives later. Oh and did I mention I have two of the cutest Valentine's on the planet this year? And quite possibly two of the most michevious!

Sunday Funday

So after all my boy's 'ouchies' last week, I prayed for an uneventful week/weekend.

Well, needless to say, it.didn't.happen. PERIOD!

GRRRRR, can't a girl just get a break here!

Okay, much better. haha, not really but I tried.

Let's see where should we begin. How about we'll start with Monday. I got a phone call late Monday that I had a potential job interview for a very awesome opportunity. But I needed to have a suit. Great. Oh, but let's not forget that it was for the next day. And not only that I needed childcare. Oye, Oye! So I ran out to find an outfit. Luckily, I found something and in the meantime got childcare worked out with Dalyn. ***Positive side note, I got my new iPhone 4 Monday night!!!***

So Tuesday, I ran around like a mad woman. Got the babies shuffled to Dalyn's work, to the interview, to get the babies, then home. I thought it went great, apparently it didn't because I still haven't heard. Then on the way home Tuesday night Dalyn hit a deer. Yes, a four legged deer. That most people shoot to kill. In this area apparently all you have to do is drive down the road. Please, keep in mind, this is the second deer we've hit since we lived here. Thankfully, Dalyn wasn't hurt, Dalyn's car didn't fair so well.

Wednesday, was quite, deep breath.

Thursday, it decided to snow. A moron driving a tow truck came to get Dalyn's car. I'm pretty sure he did about half as much damage as the deer. I also got the wonderful news that after I had already filed my taxes for the year that I was getting a 10-99 from my old job. REALLY PEOPLE!! So now I have to make an addendum.

Friday, I wake up hoping for a great weekend. WRONG! I had to be carted to the emergency room via ambulance. I thought I was dying! I've had mirgraines since I was 16. Nothing new. They have ALWAYS followed the same pattern. Aura (lasting from 10-15 min), numbness in my right arm and cheek (lasting 10-15 min), major headache (lasting all day). Friday, Aura (25-30 min) not normal, numbness down both arms and entire right side of body (2 hrs) REALLY NOT NORMAL. Add that along with tightness in my chest and I thought I was dying. They still have no idea what was wrong but after Reglan, Benedryl, Morphine, and Valum they sent me on my way. I'm going to follow up with my regular doctor. If any of you out there have a good migraine medicine, please pass it on!

Thankfully, yesterday and today have been uneventful. It's been a long week so I could really use a short easy week this week. We have our first play date tomorrow and I'm excited about it. Dalyn's car will hopefully be fixed sometime this week. And his parents will be here Friday. So here's to hoping things start looking up in our household.

Side note, I have 9 month olds!! 9 MONTH OLDS PEOPLE!! Crazy! Time is flying and I've been getting stuff for their b-days together. I know it's early but I'm also planning from 6 hours away. I'll have their 9 month post up soon. Can I just say, I'm LOVING this age. Although, they are very busy, they are soooooo much fun. I'll catch up with more on that later. Hope you all have a great week!

My Boy & His Doggie

While we were afraid our dogs may have had a big adjustment to the babies, it hasn't been quite as bad as we might have thought. And now that the babies aren't quite so fragile I can see a true friendship growing.

As you can see in these pics it looks like Sampson is getting all the benefits but don't be fooled . . . .

{ouchies}

That's what we call bumps, bruises, cuts, etc in our house.

My poor little man has certainly had his fair share of ouchies the past few days.

Let's put this week's 'ouchies' in perspective.

Ouchie #1 - Thursday night while in the bath - nose dive straight in the water. I get to him within nano-seconds but apparently he sucked a good deal of water in.

Ouchie #2 - Friday - Dr appt where the finger prick they gave my buddy was the size of being sliced with a knife. (i questioned if a lancet that big was really necessary)

Ouchie #3 - Saturday - While daddy was changing his dippie he rolled over to crawl and took a huge knock to the side of his head. I mean pump knot so big I threatened the urgent care once or twice.

Ouchie #4 - Saturday - Right before bath time, my usually very sturdy stander, took another tumble and knocked the back of his head.

Ouchie #5 - Sunday - I know at this point your thinking maybe someone should call DSS, well this one may take the cake. We have a gate that we had bought but never put up, it was beside Finley's crib propped up against the wall where they couldn't bother it. But because Finley decided she needed the plastic off of it, we moved it behind the door. So this morning while we were playing around in their room, Landry crawled over and pulled it down on top of him. (on a side note, if you are considering calling DSS, please stop reading my blog. Accidents do happen)

So needless to say, my sweet boy has had his fair share of ouchies over the past couple of days. He's such a trooper though. He cries for a few seconds and then continues on to play. But here's to hoping this week is Ouchie-Free!!

9-Month Check-up

Just a few days shy of 9 months, we carted the babies (in a monsoon) to the pedi yesterday. First things first, they always weigh the babies and all that. Landry weighed 17lb 2oz and Finley weighed 16lb 13oz. I can't remember what their length and head measurements were. But the big news is that Landry finally hit the growth curve! He was in the 10th percentile for height/weight/head. Previously, he had been growing on his own little curve but it was a little less than the 'normal' curve. Finley is in the 25th% for height/weight and 50th% for head. (for the record I think it's all the hair that makes her look like she has a big noggin'). We had a lot of questions going in to this appt. So we nailed the doctor with our crazy list of questions. (P.S. I always tell new parents, make sure you love your pedi and they are patient with you. Our def is and I am very thankful for that) By the end of the appointment we ended with having to have Landry's finger pricked and having to have blood drawn sometime in the next week or so. The finger prick was to check his iron levels and the blood draw will be to check for food allergies. They are also going to be keeping an eye of Finley because she stands/walks on her tip-toes all the time. They are also going to keep an eye on Landry's speech. I think all of which is just pre-caution. Our finger prick b/w came back perfect. We'll go sometime in the next week for allergies and I'll report back for that.

Beautiful Memories

So I've written several times <click here> or <here> about what a wonderful person my mom was and what an amazing inspiration she was. And while I could certainly do that again, I think you can get the picture from the previous posts. My beautiful, amazing mother has been gone for 6 years today. Every year I imagine it would get easier but it never really seems to. Last year, I was in the midst of being pregnant and I didn't write a post for my mom. I wanted to celebrate all the beautiful and wonderful in my life and not dwell on the tragedy. That doesn't mean I didn't think about her, not many days go by that I don't, it just means I spent the day remembering in a different kind of way. It was refreshing and amazing and beautiful. And certainly the way I wish it could be every year. But this year has been . . . . . different. I am a mom this year. I have two amazing miracles. And she's missed the most important time in my life; my pregnancy & birth of my children. She's not there when I have a question or to celebrate milestones or just to watch the babies when I need a break. I know she would be head over heals for these babies and I think that's one of the hardest things. I want my children to know her, and what an amazing mother she was and what an amazing grandmother she would've been. I have no doubt that she watches over us and especially over the babies. So this year I wanted to remember my mom in pictures. And look back at the beautiful memories we shared for the 20 years I got to spend with her.

The last thing I want to end with is a little story. The last few days my mom was alive in the hospital, we talked a lot. One of the things I kept telling her was that I was so sad she wasn't going to be there for my wedding. Thankfully, we had gotten to do a lot of planning together so she had been a huge part of a lot of it. But we had purposely moved our date up by 4 months in hopes my mom would be there. Unfortunately, she didn't make it. But she did tell me in the hospital. I won't miss it, I promise you'll know I'm there. Right before my dad gave me away we released a white dove in memory of my mom. Being a wild bird, we expected it to fly away immediately. Well, it didn't. Instead it fly up into this tree above the ceremony, sat there for a while and then flew down and finished watching the ceremony from the isle. After the ceremony was over someone was able to catch the bird and we got pictures with it. No doubt a very special moment and definitely let us know she was there. Someone kept the dove after the wedding and it ended up flying away a few days after we returned from our honeymoon. See pictures below. . .

Week/Weekend Review

Wow it has been a busy past week/weekend in our household. I helped host a baby shower this weekend for a good friend and so I spend all last week busily making preparations. I just love a baby shower.

My busy babies seemed to have switched to a whole new gear this week. They went from high to full steam ahead. Some nights I go to bed more tired than when they were newborns. Landry has a fascination with the TRASH CAN!! gross I know. I can't keep them out of the kitchen these days. Really, who am I kidding I can't keep them out of much these days. Landry also has a VERY BAD HABIT of putting ANYTHING (and i do mean anything) straight into his mouth. For some reason Finley isn't as bad but man the stuff that I've found in his mouth might get me sent straight to DSS. And I honestly, whole-heartly keep my floors clean and all dangerous things to babies up and away. But my little man can pull stuff out of thin air. Finley has learn to 'love' her baby doll. And man oh man is it precious. Of course no videos or pics yet because as soon as anything electronic comes out there are on me before I know what's happening. They can also both 'dance.' I did sneak a video of it that I'll post hopefully tomorrow. I have a feeling these two are going to be serious entertainers. Oh, we've also learned 'the fake cough' this week. It's quite annoying and I hope its a quickly forgotten trick. And lastly the new big thing in our house is doors. Landry finds an open door and its quickly shut! I dread the day he can open them. But I thought I would share of few pics of my sweet ones over the past couple of weeks.

Oh I had to go back to the dr this week. For nothing major, just a change in birth control. But the doctor did say he would like for me to start getting out a little more. And he would like Dalyn and I to start getting out once a week for a date night. It's something we've been talking about doing for a while, we just need to be more intentional about doing it. He also suggested a book for us to read together. Its called 'Becoming Your Spouses Better Half:Why Differences Make A Better Marriage.' He said it is a great read together. Have any of you read it? Dalyn and I have a great marriage, but after two years of infertility and 8 months of being pregnant and 8 months of being busy raising twins we just don't take as much time as we need to for 'us.' I mean honestly do any parents? So we going to spend some time getting back to 'us' before infertility, before pregnancy, and before twins. Not that we aren't a great couple or great parents but I think we'll be better together and for them if we do this. And it's like our doctor said 'if you don't take the time to do this now, are you going to wake up in 4 years and ask yourself do i even like this guy?' So we're going to start being more intentional about spending time as a couple and enjoying each other and who we are as individuals and not just parents.

We have also been very busy trying to prepare a budget and figure out a good way to stick with it. Lots more about this later. But we are trying to prepare ourselves for some big big moves in life so please pray for us as our journey continues.

I also hate this time of the year. My mom as been gone 6 years on Wednesday. 6 years! I don't wanna blog about it much now because I have a post coming on Wednesday. But my emotions this year seem to be much different than years past.

Finally, some pics from the baby shower. We met our friends Josh and Stefanie playing co-ed softball. They have quickly become our best friends in Greenville and some of the only friends here. They threw us a shower when we became pregnant with the babies. Stefanie is a NICU nurse and came to visit me often in the hospital, she definitely help break up some long days. But even more special is she was the NICU nurse that checked out both babies. One of our first pictures of Finley is with Stef. About a month or so after the babies were born they called with the news they were expecting. We were excited to find out a few months later it was a boy! And now little Davis is about to make his arrival. So here are a few pics.

What Is Happening?

So my husband spends his lunch hour surfing the internet but his favorite thing to do is watch videos. So when he comes home at night it never fails that he has like 3 or 4 videos that he has to show me. Recently a lot of his videos have been about this whole new 'flash mob' thing. I guess the big thing now is to break out into song or dance in a huge group in the middle of the mall. And I am just wondering what is going on with this. What is the big deal about it? I'm also wondering if any of my readers out there have been a part of it, whether dancing/singing or just being an innocent bystander.

So every now and then I like to say hello to my readers, followers and friends and just take a moment to get to know about you. Maybe you've just started reading or been following for a while. Maybe you've let me a note or maybe not. Either way this is my chance to get to know all of you out there. Also I blog about the babes a lot but I realize most of you may not even know me! So here's a little bit about me that your may not know. . . .

- i grew up in a really small town
- i'm an only child of my parents but have 1 half brother and 2 half sisters
- i have 3 nieces, 4 nephews, 1 great-niece, & 2 great-nephews
- i met dalyn when i was a sophomore in high school
- we have been dating 11 years in April
- we did the long-distance thing for 1 1/2 years
- my mom passed away when I was 20, 6 months before I got married
- she was my entire world! and i miss her everyday.
- dalyn and i were married in august 2005
- we lived 6 hours apart for the first 4 months of our marriage
- we have lived in Nashville & Knoxville TN and Greenville, NC
- i have a bachelors degree in business admin with concentration in accting but i care none for accting.
- i love to read but don't get the chance. i adore nicholas sparks
- i also love to knit but haven't knit anything since we moved back to NC
- i love to take pictures but don't have a good eye for photography, so i mostly just do it for fun
- my most favorite past-time is snowboarding and i plan to get the babies on the slopes at a very young age. there is no place i find more relaxing
- i love clean sheets and cold pillowcases
- i love when my house is clean but now-a-days it very rarely stays that way
- my favorite food is pizza! i could eat it like 7 days a week
- i only every wanted two kids in life but now we may have one more
- i always had a weird feeling i would have twins and knew the day i got my positive test i was pregnant with twins

Blown Away

So last year I thought about doing this and this year I thought why not. I am going to participate in Kelly's Korners 'Show Us Your Singles'. Ridiculous? Maybe, actually yes probably. But honestly I'm 26 and I wanted nothing but the absolute best for my father. He deserves to be happy. So here's a little back story. . .

My dad, is 63 and retired. He has 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He loves kids. He is loving referred to as 'pb' or papaw benny. He was married to my mother for right at 20 years or maybe a little over when she passed away. She died at the age of 46 from cancer. It honestly rocked my dad's world and he still isn't quite the same. And since then he just can't quite find a good woman for him. He loves to travel. So here is a little leap of fate. 'i will never be "that" mom'

Or maybe you've even said it yourself?

Have you eaten those words?

Most recently I've found myself saying (or thinking), I said I would never be that mom. Everything from carrying my baby or babies through the mall while pushing an empty stroller. To my child screaming at the top of her lungs in the middle of a restaurant (not once, not twice but three times!) To feeding my children puffs, wagon wheels or crunchies for a 'solid' meal because they either spit baby food out or won't open their mouths.

I'm sure there will be many other examples along the way and I'm learning (in a hurry) NEVER say NEVER!

Babies, my how it seems like you guys have changed so quickly. I feel like you are no longer babies, i feel like you guys are going into more of a toddler stage. It makes me sad and happy all at the same time. You are both busy movers and shakers and while some days it absolutely wears me out I am so thankful that you guys have been developing normally and are healthy 8 month olds. Somedays I think I am more tired at the end of the day than I was when you were newborns. We have started listening to music some during the day and you love to dance around in mommies arms. Its one of my favorite times of the day. My most favorite time that I spend with you guys in the morning is when you first wake up. You are so excited to see mommy when she walks in your room. It melts my heart everyday. I will never get tired of seeing that excitement. We have been blessed that you are both extremely happy babies. You very rarely ever fuss unless you are sleepy or hungry and then its very little because mommy knows your cues. I love you the amazing individual personalities you both have developed. I also love the bond you are creating together everyday. I pray you are the best of friends. I pray that you know how much your daddy and I love you. We treasure every single moment we have to spend with you.

Mommy Must-haves {part 3}

So I've done this occasionally and this one will be more mommy & baby must-haves. But here are some of the things we are loving right now.

The babies got tons of toys for Christmas. I mean so much so that our house looks like Toys R Us exploded in the living room. I've had to re-arrange and organize everything. Most of their toys they seem to just be okay with but two particular toys my uncle gave us as hand-me-downs from their little boy. Now keep in mind these were not wrapped presents under the tree just 'here you go we don't use these anymore, take them.' The first is this Leap Frog learning table. The babies love listening to the music and playing with all the little gadgets. The other thing I can't seem to save a picture of is the Vtech Sit to Stand Dancing Tower. Finley in particular loves to pull up and dance with the little bear on this. Now my kids are both EXTREMELY mobile and daring and are crawling and pulling up to everything so these are both perfect as it but what is nice also is that if your kid is just sitting they both adapt to a sitter too.

Our next must-have is, bumpkins bibs! I HATED washing cloth bibs and stains never coming out and them always looking terrible when we went out in public. I tried several cheaper versions but these are by far my favorite. They wipe off easily but the best part is that you can throw them in the washer. So far I'm SOLD!

So for Christmas we couldn't really decide what all the babies needed. They didn't need clothes and we knew they were already getting tons of toys so we decided the next best thing was a convertible carseat. We are flying to ATL in March and Dalyn's mom is meeting us there so we decided we could leave our infant car seats with her so we would have carseats for the babies when we get off the plane. So we made the investment and purchased these seats. We got the Boulevard 70 CS. And can I just say I feel like they are 100X's safer than our infant seats. I highly highly recommend them to anyone looking for a convertible seat. Also so far the babies seem to be much bigger fans in these than their other seats.

The next thing they are loving in their jumperoo. I mean they've liked it a lot up until now but they have just really started bouncing like crazy since right before thanksgiving. So they are constantly wanting to get in and bounce.

Lastly is my mommy must-have. I've had tons of different diaper bags it seems like. I love my most recent one but it just wasn't giving me the room I needed. So I asked for a new diaper bag for Christmas and so far it's perfect and I love it. This is my new bag. Its the Vera Bradley Baby Bag. Its has a perfect number of pockets, has a good opening and tons of room. It gets heavy once I stuff all my stuff in there but so far its just what I was looking for.

Well apparently Sampson seems to think so! Yesterday he went to look out the window and coming back out he knocked the tree down. It took me everything I had to get it back upright. Needless to say, its coming down this weekend!

Two side notes ……
1-last night I was struck with the stomach bug. My incrediable hubby canceled all patients today to tend to the babes. I stayed locked away in the bedroom with hopes they wouldn't get it. So please pray they don't!

2-a quick update on Reagan. She came out of surgery well today. She has a collapsed lung that have been causing some post op problems. Please continue to life sweet Reagan and her family up in your prayers as they have a long road ahead.

This is a sweet little girl of a dear friend from college.

Reagan was born on February 12, 2010.

Reagan was recently diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). SMA is a neuromuscular disease characterized by degeneration of motor neurons, resulting, in progressive muscular atrophy and weakness.

Reagan is currently under care by the doctors and nurses at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
Tomorrow she is having a tracheostomy and a permanent feeding tube inserted due to this genetic disease. They have been at Levine Children's Center since before Thanksgiving and are hoping to leave before Reagan's first birthday on February 12. Please pray that sweet little Reagan can come home to celebrate her first birthday out of the hospital!!!

I know a lot of you out there who read my blog likely have a baby or babies around Reagan's age and I know you would all probably agree with me when I say I can't imagine having a sick child. Please, please join with me to pray for little Reagan tomorrow as she goes through surgery. Please also pray for her mother and father and the rest of her family. If you so feel compelled please feel free to copy and paste this onto your own blog so that we can have more and more people lifting Reagan up in their prayers. This sweet girl needs every last prayer she can get.

Ingredients:

Directions:

1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, cook the beef, onions and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and mushrooms; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

2. Drain pasta; place half the noodles in bottom of a greased shallow 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Top with 1/2 of the meat sauce. Top with sliced cheese or Velveeta cheese. Then spread with sour cream. Top with remaining noodles, then meat sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over top.

3. Cover and bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. Uncover; bake 5-10 minutes longer or until bubbly. Yield: 8-10 servings.
