Babies' Meet Their Family {part two}

Meeting great-grandmother Henry (my grandmother)
My precious great-neice Emily
My aunt Barbara
Mammaw Henry
Great-Grandma Powell (my grandmother) & Nate
Nate was hesitant but then he drove right in and held them both!
I had to add the funny story to go with this picture. These are Dalyn's parents dogs, Max (yellow lab in the bottom right) and Shay ( choc lab under the chair. Max was so interested in the babies all weekend and Shay paid them no attention at all. We got home Saturday night and Landry was asleep so we just sat him in his car seat in the chair. Well of course Max was attempting to go smell of him when Shay went over and laid down in front of the chair so Max couldn't get to him. See Max is scared to death of Shay. So after paying them no attention she felt the need to protect him while he was sleeping.

We had a wonderful trip and are headed back for an extended stay in just a few weeks. We are also headed to Knoxville to introduce the babies to some more new people. They are so extremely blessed with a huge circle of people who love them. We are looking forward to our extended vacation in two weeks.

Babies' Meet Their Family {part one}

Last weekend we packed up the babies and headed back to Western NC to introduce the babies to a lot of their families that hadn't had the chance to meet them yet. It was also Dalyn's 10 year high school reunion. Friday we spent the day going from house to house and then went to a huge family cookout that night. Here are a few pictures from Friday.

Double Stroller Update

So after much debate we finally settled on a double stroller. We ended up with the Baby Jogger City Select. One of the main reason we loved it is 1) it wasn't side by side which I was terrified of 2) it has a billion different seating options and 3) we can use it later if we have another baby. It is so easy to handle and although its still a bit heavy I can get it in in and out of the car with ease. Best of all the babies seem to LOVE it so far!! I went to snap a couple of pics of them in it yesterday and you might know my camera battery is completely dead so once I get it charged back up I'll snap a few.

Oh and side note. It does plainly state on the box that this stroller is not for running. But I had to be honest with myself. I loathe running. Always have. Always will. So I decided that wasn't going to be my main reason for not purchasing this stroller. Its likely to be strolled more around the mall than around the neighborhood so I bought it anyways. It has however made a few brisk walks around the neighborhood and it's still great. Hope this helps if any of you are looking for a double stroller.

Everyday Changes

It seems like at this stage my sweet babies are changing almost by the hour. Just in the last week or so Finley has started rolling from her belly to her back, both babies gave us a real genuine giggle, both are chatty like crazy, Landry has started to act like he wants to hold his bottle but I think the most rewarding for us was when they discovered each other existed. They still don't really know what to do about it but just stare and smile but it's precious either way.

On another note last Thursday we packed up the car and made the 6 hour (which after babies became 8 hours) trip home to western nc. I was a nervous wreck. I was scared about every aspect, riding, feeding on the road, screaming babies for 8 hours, forgetting something important, how the babies would sleep/adjust. And I have to admit we had a few breakdowns here and there but it was overall a very successful trip. And makes me rest a little more at ease for our extended vacation of 10 days during September. Although this trip throws us being in a hotel most of the time which is a new aspect to scare me. I have a ton of pictures of the babies meeting their families I hope to get posted today. And also a update to the double stroller debate!

In the meantime, we recently introduced cereal because the babies just didn't seem like they were staying satisfied with formula. So I wanted to share this cute video I took of Finley yesterday. After initially being the hesitant one about it she become the big fan.

Acid Reflux Advice

In the past few weeks I had become convinced that Landry's acid reflux medicine hadn't been lasting him the full 12 hours or so that it should've. So we took him to the doctor and she agreed that maybe he needed a different 'kind' of medicine. She switched him from Zantac to Prevacid. She also forewarned us that the first couple of days could be pure "hell" as it normally would take 10-14 days for the medicine to fully start working and we had to stop the Zantac cold turkey. Well sure enough the first few days were a little rough and then it seemed to start working and I was relieved that it seemed to be what he need to solve the problem. And then it happened. . . my boy became aware of what was coming every morning and night in that syringe. So now even though it's only a tiny amount we CAN NOT get him to take it. We've tried mixing it with formula, cereal, and he still won't take it. So I'm turning to my blogging mommy friends who have had to give their children medicine. Any suggestions on how to get him to take the full amount? Thanks in advance.

Double Stroller

Okay so I guess I'm having the usual twin mommy debate. I am looking for a twin stroller that can double duty as a everyday stroller but also as a walking/jogging stroller. I'm in between the Baby Jogger City Mini, Elite, City Select and also the Bumbleride Indie Twin. I'm open to taking any and all opinions and reviews. Oh and I also want something I can put the babies in without their carseats now. Landry hates his carseat so its really important that it supports infants.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. My babies are 3 mos old tomorrow!! Woah where is time going. 3 month post coming soon!

The Life That I Have

The life that I have

Is all that I have

And the life that I have

Is yours

The love that I have

Of the life that I have

Is yours and yours and yours

A sleep I shall have

A rest I shall have

Yet death will be but a pause

For the peace of my years

In the long green grass

Will be yours and yours

And yours

It's been 5 years. . .
since I married the man of my dreams,
the love of my life
the father of my children
 and my best friend!

I could've never imagine we would be where we are today.
But I am. . .
more in love today that I was 5 years ago.

Dalyn,
You are more than I could've ever asked for. I had no idea that when we were married 5 years ago that we would be a family of 4 today. I had no idea that I could love you any more today than I did then. Seeing you become a father and watching what an amazing father you are to your children made my love you for change and grow into something I could've never dreamed. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you. I would say that I'm not sure how this year could be beat but I know as the years grow on each will be amazing in its own way. I look forward to many many more amazing memories and years with you! I love you to the moon and back. XOXO

Swaddle Stretch

What is this you may ask?

Finley must be swaddled to sleep, period!
When you go to wake her up out of her swaddle this is the progression of what happens. . . .
