And then. . .

there were 7 . . .

This is from the 4th of July this year. Our best friends Ashley & Tony and their little girl Reeslyn came to meet Landry and Finley. It was by far one of the best and saddest trips ever. It was amazing to finally have our babies and be introducing them to Ashley & Tony. It was one of the hardest goodbyes I think I've ever said to them though. This was probably the second hardest. . . .

This is when we went from 4 to 5 and Reeslyn entered the world. I had no idea we'd skip 6 all together!! We love Ashley, Tony and Reeslyn like they are family. Ashley and I became friends by chance and the rest has pretty much been history. And the funniest thing about our friendship story is that we've hardly ever lived in the same town. I have HIGH hopes we'll change that sometime in the future. I found this quote the day they left and it was perfect.

‎"everyone has a 'best friend' during each stage of life - only a few have the same one"

I have been so bless to have had Ashley during a lot of stages in my life and am very blessed to have her as I begin this new stage of motherhood.

We love you guys!!!

The Scarlet Thread - Part 2

About this time last year I wrote this post, The Scarlet Thread. I had been debating on writing a post one year later and how far we've come and how much our lives have changed. But I can't even put into words how far we've come, how much our lives have changed and how blessed we have been. So I thought I'd leave you with pictures to show you . . . .

One thing people always ask me is if I have advice to those struggling with infertility. And my only advice is, continue to pray and find peace in the Lord. Remember, he's in the miracle making business after all! I continue to pray for all of those struggling through infertility as I know it was one of the most difficult times in my life. I now see the other side of that ugly woven tapestry and it's the most beautiful amazing thing I've EVER seen!!

So I know I've been promising a 2 month update and its coming but in the meantime I thought I would share our big news. . . . .

Landry & Finley slept though the night last night!!!

Okay so here's what our night-time schedule has looked like recently.

We normally do an afternoon feed around 4:30, wake time and down for a nap about 5:30-6:00. Then they are up to feed again about 7:30 and then down for another nap around 8:30ish. We had been making 8:30 our 'official' bedtime, where we do baths and everything. They had been sleeping until around 2:30 or so for the past about 3 weeks. Then I received some advice from a good friends about feeding them again right before I went to bed. So we had been getting them back up and doing bath/bedtime routine at about 10:30. They had been sleeping until around 4:30 or so. Then last night we put the down at 11 and I woke up in sheer panic around 5:30 this morning. I checked on them to make sure they were okay and then went back to sleep. My sweet babies didn't wake up until 8:00!!!, yes you read it correctly, 8:00 AM this morning. That's a total of 9 hours!!!!

Momma woke up feeling refreshed!!!

Pray this streak continues. . . .

Going Private

So I've been considering going private since the babies were born and everyday seems like I lean more and more towards it. However, I want people, especially women struggling with infertility to be able to read my blog and hopefully find some hope. I also worry about our privacy. A lot of things have been going on lately and I worry about our babies. I am curious to get some feedback from all of you out there. So here are my questions. . .

If you are private. . .
1.What made you finally decide to go private?
2. And what impact do you feel like its had on your blog?
3. And lastly, I have a lot of people tell me they read my blog that I never imagined would, I'd love for those people to continue reading but what if they are to shy to ask and just miss out?

If you are still public . . .
1. What made you continue to stay public?
2. Do you worry about your privacy and/or safety?

Again, I'd love some feedback. . . . thanks everyone!

Nap Intruder - Please Help

So my babies have been doing great with their Eat/Wake/Sleep schedule. However, for about the last week or so Landry has been waking up about half way through his nap and will absolutely not go back down. I've tried just going in and giving his paci back, I've tried letting him cry, I've tried picking him up and putting him back down, I've tried keeping him up longer, putting him down sooner. NOTHING is working he's wide awake. And he isn't hungry when he wakes because he's content. Suggestions??? Oh and when I walk in and find this. . . .

this normally isn't far behind. . . .

Just about a week shy of their 2 mo birthday and their have been some big milestones in my babies lives.

Okay, maybe one big, huge, major one. . .

They spend the first night in their nurseries!!

I never thought this would as big of a deal as it was. Our original plan was to keep the babies in their packnplays in our room for a couple of weeks and then go ahead and move them over. This momma however became very attached to having them in our bedroom. My husband kept telling me we had to set a 'goal date.' And so I did. But then Tuesday night as were we doing I bed time routine I mentioned something about them sleeping in their nursery and well that's were they ended up.

They were champs and slept great, it was momma who had the sleepless night. Last night they slept even better, only waking up once to feed at 3:30 this morning. I have a feeling it won't be long before they are sleeping through the night.

Our next big milestone is that both babies are starting to smile in response to you. It happened out of no where and boy can it make your heart melt. I will post a couple of pictures I've captured from my iPhone. They aren't good quality but you can get the idea.

And our last milestone happened just this morning. My boy is a belly sleeper. Yes, I know its not good but we have an excellent monitor that detects movement and alarms if no movement is felt. So I feel fairly confident with the monitor. Well, this morning I heard him fussing around in there and when I go in to check on him, he was one his back! I was amazed. Is it really time for that? Maybe it was just a one time thing and won't happen again for a while? Either way it makes me feel like my babies are growing up already.

Okay stay tuned, pics to follow. . .

Babies' Meet Doctor

I had my 6 wk follow up on the 25th of June.
Everything looked great!
Cleared for all activity.
14 lbs to go until pre-pregnancy weight
Back on b/c after over 2 years of using nothing!! (eck)

Pictures of babies with their delivering doctor. . .
We love Dr. T and think he's the best doctor ever!! We'd almost stay here just to have him deliver any future Webb babies'. He was secretly the doctor we'd wanted to deliver us all along and it couldn't have worked out better. As I said in my birth story, my team (dr, nurse & anesthesiologist) were all amazing!!

Famous In a Small Town

Okay so this post is going to be completely unrelated to babies, so feel free to skip if you'd like.

Dalyn and I grew up in a small town just outside of Asheville, NC called Sylva. Growing up I never thought I would leave Sylva and like most of my peers never really had the desire to. But like all things you never know what life is going to bring and several years later Dalyn was accepted to dental school in Nashville, TN so it seemed leaving the small town would be definite. In July 2004 my mother was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Dalyn left for dental school in August of 2004. I stayed behind to be with my mother and to finish my final two semesters of college. My mother passed away in February 2005 and well needless to say I needed/wanted to start fresh. We were married in August of 2005 and shortly thereafter I moved to Nashville. It was and still remains to be one of the best decisions of my life. I needed to get away. I needed to spread my wings. I needed to become my own woman. But most of all I needed the healing that Nashville brought.

Now don't get me wrong, I loved/love everything about our small town. From the old buildings lining our one way main street, to the fall when the leaves are beautiful, to the mountain sky, to the mountain air, really I could go on for days. Sylva will forever remain in my heart. When we go back it seems like such a humbling experience. All of our families are still there, so its amazing to have them all within 20 minutes of each other. But most of all its wonderful to see how thing change but how they still stay the same.

So why all this you ask?

Well one of my most favorite things about our small town is the courthouse that sets high on top of a hill overlooking downtown. My two most favorite times of year are in spring with everything is lush and green surrounding and at Christmas. The first time I ever met my future husband to be was on main street during our towns annual Christmas parade. I have attached two pictures for your viewing pleasure. The courthouse is a mainstay of our small town. Recently, the town decided that the public library, which was housed in a building on main street, would take up new residence in an addition to the courthouse. At first I was impartial and didn't care. But as the building has progressed I'm none to thrilled with how things are taking shape. I just think it degrades a town treasure. I couldn't find an actual picture of the recent addition but here is a rendering. Its still not finished and the architects have apparently promised it will stay very true in nature. But I just don't buy it and feel like some things are better left untouched. Its suppose to be sometime at the end of the year so I'll save my final opinion until then.
I apologize for the completely random post but I just had to get it off my chest. For those of you who have never visited Western NC, its a must see esp when the leaves are changing! If you plan a vacation let me know, I can definitely recommend some must do/see/stay/play and eat spots!!

Sweet Cheeks

the babies are napping
the house is clean
the laundry is done
dinner is fixed
after a rough night, momma should be napping
but instead i thought i would have show and tell
These are just a couple of the pictures we got to see from our newborn sessions and we cannot wait to see the rest.
