Pregnancy - Week 21

I apologize for the delay. I could have sworn I hit publish on Friday but apparently I just dreamed it.

How far along:
21 weeks 6 days
Total weight gain/loss: 27 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Wearing all maternity now but I think if I could get away with wearing sweats, that's all I'd be wearing!!
Stretch marks: None yet on my belly but I've noticed a few popping up on my boobs and hips.
Sleeping: Well I have good days and bad days. I'm still getting up to pee at night. And sometimes my back hurts so bad I'm not sure I can lay down any longer to sleep. Not to mention now that my stomach muscles ache (I'm assuming from where they are stretching) to the point that I just have to sit up.
Best moment last week: Getting to see our little ones and know they are still growing and healthy. We also got the nursery cleaned out and ready for paint and furniture!!
Symptoms: Lack of sleep, constant hunger, peeing all the time, heartburn, backache and round ligament pain still.
Food cravings: I just crave food 24/7.
Food aversions: Not much of anything anymore.
I miss: being able to get comfortable in bed.
What I am looking forward to: My baby shower in a few weeks. Getting my bedding this week. Getting my furniture either this week or next.
Body Changes: The dark line down the center of my belly, aka linea nigra, is starting to get darker. My belly feels like it is starting to get big now. At times so much so that I get uncomfortable and can't do anything to feel some relief.
Other Thoughts: I was so happy to see my babies this week. I worry about them almost constantly and its such a relief to see them and know they are doing great. We've gotten some nursery design ideas nailed down and I can't wait to get started. We're holding off until the bedding gets here just to be certain we're settled with the bedding.Hopefully it should be here this week!!!

Doctor's Appointment - 21 Weeks 3 Days

We had another growth scan this past Tuesday. Normally we don't wait very long but we waited forever on Tuesday. My dad got to go with us and he absolutely loved it! He said it was the first time he'd ever seen an u/s. So I weighed 142 lbs, yes almost to the 150 mark, which is really weird for me since it took me until I was like 22 to weigh over 110. It doesn't really scare me just never thought I would see it. I peed in a cup, and got the good news, no blood in my urine!! YAH!!! Pricked my finger, iron still great!! And then off for the fun stuff.

I could tell the babies must had been snoozing because their movements had slowed down a lot while we were in the waiting room. And sure enough they were pretty lull. It was the first time we'd seen them not being active and I must say I prefer them to be more active. They re-checked the sexes, I must question why, they've checked them 3 times now! They also re-checked the hearts. Landry is the photogenic, show-off. We got a perfect picture of his heart and he cooperated completely with everything. He is positioned toward the upper part of my belly and is laying across it with his head towards my right side. Turns out he is the more active one when I'm feeling them move. Finley is laying lower and across but her head was more towards my left side. She is already the shy, stubborn one. She wanted nothing to do with pictures and we barely got the profile shot we did before she flipped around. When we finished she was curled up with her knees up around her forehead. Both their hearts and heartbeats look amazing. They said they both still have plenty of room and my fluid level looks great! They both weighed right at a 1 lb which he said was right on. He said all is going great at this point. They are going to start seeing me every two weeks now. I'll have my next scan in 4 more weeks and then start scanning every 2 weeks after that. Yes I'm going to be living there from here on out. I can't wait to start seeing them every 2 weeks!! So here are pictures of the little munchkins.

Mission, Baby Bedding. . .

ACCOMPLISHED!!

Well at least that's what I'm hoping! I placed the order for baby bedding today and while I really liked it online, I'm holding my breath until it gets here. (Not literally, because I can't even breath normally without getting winded these days) So drum roll please . . . . .

I think we're probably doing to do the walls a similar shade of green that's in both bedding but don't know for sure yet.

In other news I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Can wait to see my little munchkins' and see how they are growing!!

Pregnancy - Week 20

How far along: 20 weeks 5 days
Total weight gain/loss: 25 lbs. Yes you read it correctly.
Maternity clothes: Wearing all maternity now but I think if I could get away with wearing sweats, that's all I'd be wearing!!
Stretch marks: None yet on my belly but I've noticed a few popping up on my boobs and hips.
Sleeping: Well I have good days and bad days. I'm still getting up to pee at night but this week after the move I have been exhausted so I've gotten much much better sleep.
Best moment last week: BEING 20 WEEKS!!!! WOOHOO!!! Getting all our stuff to the new house, knowing this is where we are going to be bringing our babies home to!!
Symptoms: Lack of sleep, constant hunger, peeing all the time, heartburn, backache and round ligament pain still.
Food cravings: My husband says I just crave food.
Food aversions: Not much of anything anymore.
I miss: NOTHING!!
What I am looking forward to: My baby shower in a few weeks and our growth scan this coming Tuesday.
Body Changes: Well as you can see from the post below my belly is definitely still growing. The dark line down the center of my belly, aka linea nigra, is starting to get darker. My belly button has completely flatten out but hasn't popped out yet.
Other Thoughts: My pregnancy book said this should have been one of the more enjoyable weeks of my pregnancy and well I must say it certainly has been!! I've had energy, felt good, gotten some decent sleep so that makes me hopeful I can get a few more weeks of this. We are moved! Now if we can just get unpacked and everything straightened up I will be much happier. They called this week to say my baby furniture would be here either this week or early next. I didn't plan on it being here for another 4 weeks or more, so needless to say I've gotten completely overwhelmed about getting a nursery idea together. My babies are active little munchkins. I feel them constantly and both Dalyn and I got to see them move on the outside this week. We don't get to see them much but its so amazing to see them poke out. I can't wait for the coming weeks and getting to feel and see them even more and more. I didn't get to post about my doctor's appointment last week so I wanted to just make note of a couple of things. My doctor said that they don't think I have kidney stones they think it may be a lingering infection. They have me on a really low grade antibiotic and said they may end of leaving me on it for the remainder of my pregnancy. He said my swelling last week looked really minor and on the upside has pretty much gone away even after being on my feet constantly all weekend. He also said that I was measuring 24 weeks, yes 24 weeks!!!!!! That was a little over 4 weeks ahead. So I'm going to be interested to see what it is this coming week. And lastly the most interesting thing he told me was that in the next two weeks or so I should be able to start telling the difference in kicks between the two babies. I'm not sure exactly what he meant by that but I'll be excited to see if I can say oh that's baby a or that's baby b. And maybe it won't be that specific but who knows.

Belly Bonanza - 20 Weeks 4 Days

Sorry some of the pics are acquard size. Our house is a nightmare right now since we just got moved, so I had to crop boxes and junk out! There also not the best quality, as our good camera is apparently packed somewhere.

Pregnancy - Week 19

How far along: 19 weeks 6 days
Total weight gain/loss: 22 lbs.
I'm getting up twice a night to pee and now can't get myself comfortable and support my belly.
Best moment last week: Getting to see my babies on u/s not once but twice!!!!
Symptoms: Lack of sleep, constant hunger, peeing all the time, heartburn, backache and round ligament pain still.
Food cravings: Still loving my onion soup. And still a bottomless pit.
Food aversions: Not much of anything anymore.
I miss: NOTHING!!
What I am looking forward to: Getting moved next weekend, our baby shower in a few weeks and being 20 weeks!!!
Body Changes: At this point I really don't know what with my body hasn't changed!!! I think my belly grows by the minute!! My belly button is now completely flat but hasn't popped out yet. I officially have cankles, yep you read it correctly!! Dalyn and I are in the process of moving and I've been on my feet almost non-stop this week and well its taken its toll. I noticed Wednesday night that it looked like my feet and ankles were starting to swell and sure enough. If I keep them propped up they aren't as bad but its def there.
Other Thoughts: I have been helping to finalize plans for my baby shower back home which is so exciting. I never in a million years could have imagined this time would come. I've been going to the doctor almost constantly the past three weeks it seems like. They don't know what's going on with my kidney problem but the babies are doing great. This week their movements have really picked up, well I guess I can just feel them even more now. They are some active little babies. This morning while Dalyn and I were laying in bed one of them just started kicking and rolling. Dalyn got to feel it moving for a good 2 minutes or so. I love it that he has started to be able to feel them. As I said earlier we are moving this week to a house that is more mommy and baby friendly!! Our bedrooms are going to be close, no stairs, laundry close, and no water! I feel much safer being home with them by myself in this neighborhood so I'm very ready to get settled. I think we've about settled on a nursery design but I'll let you know more about that later. We are also getting new leather furniture this week which I think will help me be more sane when messes happen on the couch. Oh, I've decided I have so many u/s pictures I'm going to have to create a photo album or scrapbook. I'm going to try and get that taken care of sometime in the coming weeks. Did you know u/s pics will fade over time?? So mom's or mommies to be out there, make sure you get to wal-mart and get a copy of those made before they are to faded.

Bedding Dilemma

So I know I've posted several times that the hubby and I are having difficulties making a bedding decision. You really would think it would be much easier than it has been. Nevertheless we thought we'd enlist everyone opinions and help. We have a girl bedding that we love and a boy bedding that we love however they aren't even in the realm of matching. See pictures below. We have found an interior designer that will help us do the decorating and making the bedding, paint, accessories decisions but I just don't know if I really want to go to such an expense. So any help that anyone could give me would be much appreciated. Or if you know an interior designer who wouldn't charge me an arm and leg for a little direction that would be even better!!

Pregnancy - Week 18

How far along: 19 weeks 1 day

Total weight gain/loss: 16.2 lbs

Maternity clothes: I'm now mostly having to wear maternity shirts. My pre-pregnancy shirts aren't quite covering my belly anymore.

Stretch marks: None yet on my belly but I've noticed a few popping up on my boobs and hips.

Sleeping: Well I have good days and bad days. I'm getting up twice a night to pee and now can't get myself comfortable and support my belly.

Best moment last week: Finding out we were having a boy and girl!!! I also got to see them twice on ultrasound this week so that's always a plus!!!

Symptoms:
Lack of sleep, constant hunger, peeing all the time, heartburn and round ligament pain still.

Food cravings: Still loving my onion soup. And I swear I could eat just about anything right now. I am like a bottomless pit, I can eat a meal and an hour later be starving again.

Food aversions: Not much of anything anymore.

I miss: NOTHING!! Occasionally I wake up so exhausted in the mornings, so I miss getting a great nights sleep.

What I am looking forward to: Getting moved next weekend, our baby shower in a few weeks and being 20 weeks!!!

Body Changes: At this point I really don't know what with my body hasn't changed!!! I think my belly grows by the minute!! This past week I started having some blood in my urine, of course I was terrified when I first seen it. The doctors have spent all week trying to figure out what it is. They have looked at the babies twice and checked my cervix twice. Everything looks perfect with the babies and my cervix, so they are thinking I might have kidney stones. I had an u/s of my kidneys this week that showed no stones. They mentioned several other things, nothing serious and nothing they can really do a whole lot about. So we are going to just wait it out and see. I'm content just knowing the babies are ok.

Other Thoughts: People have really started to notice a lot more that I'm pregnant, which I LOVE!! What I also love is that my husband tells everyone he sees that we're pregnant with twins. I absolutely adore how excited he is about these babies. I've tried to involve him in as much of the decision making process as I can and I value every last opinion he gives me. I ordered my baby furniture this week, it should be here in about 6 weeks and I can't wait for it to get here. Now if I can get bedding decided I'd be trucking along. We'll get something decided soon I'm sure. From one of our previous posts everyone has been asking our names. We decided on Finley Marie and Landry Knox. We haven't decided on a for sure spelling for Finley, so if anyone has suggestions please feel free to suggest away. Lastly, I have some extremely busy babies!! This last week I'm started to be able to feel them almost constantly. When I wake up I can feel them first thing int he morning and its such a blessing. Dalyn also got to feel them just barely a little earlier in the week. Only on occasion will they get to moving around and being busy enough to feel a small kick on the outside but I would say I can feel them on the outside about 7-10 times a day. I can't wait to see how much more I start to feel them in the weeks to come. This week I realized I've done a really crappy job keeping a pregnancy journal, so I'm going to start writing more on these weekly post so I can have them as my journal. So sorry if these start getting long!!

Happy New Year's

I haven't made a new year's resolution yet so I don't have anything to post about that but I thought I would update you all on the amazingly productive long weekend the hubby and I have had.

Of course you all know how our day went Thursday. We slept late, which was lovely!! and then we got ready to head off to our appointment. We had several things we wanted to return from Christmas and we wanted to have time to get lunch before our big appointment. First we had lunch at McAlister's, it had been since we lived in Knoxville since we had eaten there and I was craving a Spud!! Next we went to exchange a couple of Pandora beads that I had gotten for Christmas. And then we were off to our appointment. We ended up getting there way early so we sat it the car a just talked for a little while, I love those chats!! Here are some pics we snapped of us right before we went in. Of course after our big news and the appointment we did a little baby shopping but didn't find a whole lot and then we had dinner together to cap off the evening. Being pregnant and tired constantly we came back home and I was fast asleep well before the ball dropped.

Friday we had made plans to head to Raleigh to start our registry. Unfortunately the Babies R Us here is extremely small and I wanted to go to a big one so I could have lots of choices. Let me just tell you, Dalyn and I do not made decisions well so we were in Babies R Us for like 4 hours. I bet we came close to setting a record :-) Although I will say another girl in there was driving me insane. Every time we would go to a section, she would go to a section and just stand there without allowing us to look at anything. I could have screamed by the time we left there. So we came back home and did a mass edit online!! We had previously picked out baby furniture we were pretty set on but then found some in Raleigh that we really like. Unfortunately, they were quite a big more expensive. But we filed those in the back of our minds for future research once we got home. Oh and I also bought a Snoogle while we were registering. I thought maybe it would help me sleep better. Needless to say I returned in on Saturday. We did some more baby shopping and regular shopping and had dinner there before heading back home.

Saturday was a frigid cold day here in Eastern NC. I don't know if I've been in weather this cold in a while, or maybe it was the wind chill. But nevertheless we decided to go out shopping anyways. I wanted to go back and look at the baby furniture we had originally liked, I also wanted to go to Once Upon a Child, back to Babies R Us, to a couple of furniture stores for us and lastly to Wal-Mart so we could do a registry there. So we racked up on some cute baby stuff from Once Upon a Child and Babies R us. We also made a final decision about our nursery furniture. We made a decision about a living room set for us. And last but certainly not least, we think we might have settled on names for the babies!!! For two extremely indecisive people we made a lot of decisions Saturday. Here are the pics of some of the clothes we got for the babies and of the nursery furniture we decided on. Now if we could just find bedding we'd be doing so much better. Oh yeah and we got registered at Wal-Mart yesterday too.

Today hasn't been quite as productive. It is still ever so cold here, so this morning I woke up and made us a big pancake breakfast and we haven't done much since. We watched some football, played some Wii and napped. I've also searched high and low for some baby bedding. If anyone has any suggestions on boy/girl bedding or nursery designs that would match the above furniture, please do share because I'm stuck. All in all we had a fabulous and safe New Year's as we hope you all did too!!!

October 2009
Our ultrasound produced the biggest surprise of our lives!!!
TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!
We also broke the news to all of our friends and family in October.

November 2009
Really was all about the babies. I don't have a lot of pictures but we spend lots of time basking in how amazing God was to bless us with two tiny little miracles.

December 2009

Our ultrasound showed a baby BOY and GIRL!! (pic to come)

All in all we've had an amazing 2009 and know that 2010 only has greater things to come.
