Closing It Down

2010 that is. We never make big plans for New Years; don't know why really. I kept saying before I had kids I was going to NYC, well that clearly didn't happen. Maybe when the babies get old enough to where I'm comfortable leaving then longer than 10 minutes we will venture up.

As I look forward to 2011 I have so many thoughts in my head. Since I've happened upon becoming a SAHM, in trying to decide what to do going forward in 2011. I always assumed I would have to return to work after my children were born however at the moment we're making it. And while I continue to look for a job its just not out there right now. For a good while now I've been thinking about opening an etsy store. I have about a billion craft ideas that I've either written down or thought of and well what better way to make some side money than to share my creations. But I always wonder, would it make it? Would people want my hand-made stuff? Would I end up giving up? While its not a huge risk, it still kind of is. Its time, effort and money. It would cost me some money to invest to get supplies to get some items going. It would cost me a lot of time. But on the time aspect, at least it would be on my own time. And at least I could be home with my babies. Then I question, should I leave this idea in the dust and just continue to look for a job. I've been praying a lot. Dalyn and I know that we have a most a year and half in Greenville after January. So at this point is it really worth committing to a new job, knowing that I'm going to be leaving in just a short time.

That's where you all come in. Do any of you have etsy stores? Was it hard to get it started? What advice would you give me? If you don't have a store, do you shop etsy? Have you ever heard of etsy? Would you be more or less likely to buy from someone you know? If you've purchased from etsy, what type of products have you purchased? Any other info you are willing to give me would be great!!

what is happening in our house?

For a good while Landry has been really interested in seeing out his crib. He's always popping his head over or peeping through the rails. Only recently has Finley decided she really enjoys it too. A few nights ago we went in and Landry had pulled up to his knees and was looking out. We didn't think a lot of it but said we would go ahead and lower his crib this weekend. So yesterday we were trying to clean house before we head out of town, I always like to vacuum while the babies are down that way I don't stir up dust while they are around. I could hear the babies awake, chatting so I decided I would finish vacuuming really quick and Dalyn said he would go in a play with them until I was done. As I hear him walk in the door I hear him say, 'jess, come here hurry.' I dropped the vacuum and rushed in to find this . . . . .

Needless to say we spent the rest of yesterday afternoon lowering two cribs. I cannot believe how fast they are growing and changing. Oh and I don't think I've mentioned that they are now taking baths likes big kids.

I will admit although they seem to be growing up so fast I'm loving the stage. They are starting to be so much fun. I can't wait for Christmas presents this week!!!

In case I don't get to blog for the rest of the week, everyone have a safe week!!! And a very very Merry Christmas!

I feel like sometimes I forget to write things down and today two very interesting things happen that I want to make sure and remember.

1 - my son cut his first tooth. lower left.

2 - my daughter associated mama with me. no really i swear she did. i had a job interview this morning (a 3 hr one to be exact) and wanted to do some Christmas shopping afterwards so that left her with daddy all day pretty much. When I finally got home, her and Landry were in their jumparoo and exercaucer. Finley looked straight at me got all excited and said 'ma-ma'. She's been saying ba-ba and we've thought she's associated it with her bottle but for the warmth in my heart I'm believing she's associate 'ma-ma' with me.

I just cannot believe how fast they are growing and changing.

Well babes, I say this every month but I can't believe another month has come and gone. Daddy and I have started to make some birthday plans already and that blows my mind! You are seriously going to be turning one soon. You are definitely turning into little kids now. Crawling makes you seem even more grown up, I can't imagine what walking is going to be like. We had a wonderful time celebrating your first Thanksgiving and we definitely had lots to be thankful for. We are so looking forward to Christmas with you. It will definitely be a joyful season!! We love you.

Ho Ho Ho

We turned in our Christmas wish list to Santa this past Friday.

Landry wasn't a fan but we did at least get a pic of them with no crying! Success!!

Oh me, Oh my

I wrote a post a long, long time ago when we were in the midst of infertility and really it was a uplifting laugh that I needed. The babies have been sleeping bees today (I think they're going through a growth spurt) and so I was reading back through my blog and I ran across this post. (<-- click)

Basically, what you did was post a picture of you and your spouse and it gave you a picture of what your baby was suppose to look like. So tell me what you think. . . .

Minus the dark brown eyes I really think I can see some resemblance's between my babies. HAHA who would've ever thought it would work!

a day in the life. . .

of a crawler.

trying to find mommy.
found her
 trying to get mommies camera
no such luck

what's in here?

can i go mom?

i think i found something

is she looking?

okay busted

let's see what else is out there

It's so hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that my 6, almost 7, month olds are crawling. They've both been doing the army crawl since right before Thanksgiving but this week Landry has decided to give all fours a try. He's doing great except when he gets his legs going faster than his arms. But he's getting there and soon I think he'll be going everywhere at the speed of light. Finley is still army crawling but she is FAST now so I don't know if she'll attempt all fours.

They have both also started sitting unassisted pretty good this week. They could do it for a few seconds before but I would by no means turn my head even for a second. But now I've noticed they are starting to balance themselves back if they get to leaning and Finley has even learned to go from sitting to crawling. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY BABIES?? Pretty soon they're going to be asking to borrow the car. It seems like everyday they wake up doing something new and I just can't keep up writing it all down. I'm definitely going to have to stop waiting for their monthly post because by then its really left my brain.

Why Not?

Get 50 free christmas cards from Shutterfly??

Dalyn and I are a little cramped with $$$ this holiday season. It happens, especially with only one spouse working, so I wasn't sure we'd have the extra cash laying around to send Christmas cards. Couple that with the $10,000 bill I got from the NC Dept of Revenue and well we're broke. Thank goodness it was the grinch trying to put an evil kink in Christmas. It was a simple mistake on their part. *deep sigh*

Sooooo, when I started reading about the 50 cards shutterfly is giving away to bloggers I was so excited. I scavenged their website with no luck as to finding where I should sign up to get these christmas cards. So I simply thought I had missed it, until a blog mommy that I followed posted the link on where to go. Maybe you've wondered the same thing? Here's where to go. . . click here

So here are a few I really liked. . .

Since we're a little tight on cash we're also tossing around several ideas for Christmas gifts from Shutterfly. Considering this is the first Christmas with the munchkins' I know everyone will appreciate photo gifts. Since we have lots of family and friends who read our blog I don't want to give a lot away but here are a few of the gifts I liked.

If your interested in any of the cards or pictures I linked them back to Shutterfly's website so all you have to do is click on the picture.

There are so many to choose from. Hopefully, Dalyn will be willing to help me narrow them down. In the meantime, head on over and get you Christmas cards too.

Sneak Peak

So we had our Christmas/6 month photo shoot with the babies yesterday. And last night our photographer posted just a sneak peak of a few on FB and I couldn't help but share. They are adorable.

I'll share the rest whenever we get them back.

Happy Blogoversary!

Today marks two years I've been keeping up my blog. Two years? Really? Wow! Time certainly does fly by. I never could've imagined I would have kept this up for two years. It has been an amazing outlet for me and I'm so thankful for everything its done for me. And also the people its allowed me to connect with.  I hope that I can continue for many years to come. So for my last day of being thankful, I'm thankful for my blog. The outlet its given me. The people its allowed me to meet. And the diary its allowed me to keep about life, infertility, pregnancy and most of all my sweet babies.

Thanks to you all for continuing to read and follow!!

Thanksgiving {2010} & More

So I had posts scheduled for everyday last week, well they didn't post. Apparently, instead they were deleted or something. Who knows what I've done. So I have a hodge podge of stuff to catch everyone up on. But I still wanted to make sure I gave thanks to my top three things (in no particular order).

1) My beautiful babies
2) My amazing husband
3) My Savior

Need I really say any more about any 3 of those?

Also, as you may notice I have yet to post any 6 month pictures. Well, let me just tell you. . . I have BUSY babies and pictures seem almost non-exsistant at this point. So here are the best three pictures I got of them. And yes, I'm aware I hadn't even managed to get their 6 month stickers on yet.

We decided last week that we might try to sneak away a little early for the trip home for thanksgiving. Well, that left me Monday to get all the laundry done, house cleaned and everyone packed. So needless to say Monday I was crazy. I don't think I had a moment to sit down. First thing Tuesday morning we got the babies up and fed and we hit the road. We left at 9am, right on time but didn't end up getting out of town until 10:30 because we ended up with so many errands to run. We made it to WNC about 5pm and let me tell you, we were all four ready to get out of that stupid car. Landry screamed for the last 2 1/2 hours and I had a busting headache so the combination was BAD! But we all got a little rest and were ready to let the festivities begin on Wednesday.
This was Tuesday night when we got in. My mammaw is in a nursing home and they did Thanksgiving dinner Tuesday. So we went and spent some time with her.

We did Thanksgiving day at my mom's families and  at dalyn's parents. Here are some pics from that day

My niece Brooke & Landry
Our family is certainly expanding fast!

I seriously probably had billions of photos to share so I'll spare you. But as you can see the babies had a wonderful first thanksgiving with many friends, family and future playmates. So many things are changing with our babies, it seems to be happening daily. Finley has one tooth through and other you can see and I'm waiting any day for Landry's to pop through. Both babies can army crawl anywhere and Finley is quickly learning you have to use your knees to go fast. Its funny because they can't quite sit up on their own and I try to 'practice' with them but they have no interest in sitting on their butts, they want to be moving. We are currently in the midst of what I think must be their first little colds. They are congested and have a little cough. I've thought it could be teeth too but who knows. It amazes me how quickly they are changing. Finley is now grabbing for cups and can take it to her mouth like your suppose to and even tip it back to drink. They want to be at the dinner table when we are and they would really prefer to be eating too. Since we started with the colds they haven't been sleeping great. I think the sinus drainage must be waking them up. So hopefully we'll be done with that soon. I am decorating for Christmas this year and getting Christmas outfits and pjs washed up. I can't wait to see them at Christmas. While we were shopping for toys the other day, Dalyn reminded me that my babies will be 7 1/2 months at Christmas. How is that possible? Hope you all had a wonderful Turkey Day and had as much to be thankful for as I did.
